A premium guest experience – Philips MediaSuite hospitality TVs bring advanced entertainment services and business features to guests staying at Abba hotels in Spain, Andorra, Germany and Chile as part of major in-room modernisation programme.
PPDS, the AV industry’s fastest-growing provider of digital signage, LED displays and professional TV solutions, is delighted to announce that its dedicated range of Philips MediaSuite Pro TVs for hospitality been chosen by the Abba hotel chain for the modernisation of its TV and entertainment system. The installation of more than 1,000 guest rooms across Europe is part of a major room upgrade rollout for the hotel chain, to bring premium guest room entertainment services and picture quality to guests, without the premium room price tag.
The group, which has 22 boutique hotel sites across 14 different locations, including Madrid, Barcelona and Berlin, has been operating for more than 18 years and is a popular choice for both tourists and the global business community.
With advancements in technology redefining and influencing the way people choose their short stay bookings, particularly for business travellers, Abba Hotels has undergone a major modernisation programme in order to meet the needs and demands of guests both today and for the future.
To achieve its ambitious European rollout strategy, the hotel chain partnered with Madrid-based company IpmasD – a specialist in the supply of equipment, solutions, and services for the hotel and hospital sector – fitting the latest Philips Pro TVs – ranging from 32” to 55” Studio and MediaSuite models, inside 1,070 rooms.
Moving entertainment from the superseded analogue variety to the latest digital suite means guests can now enjoy high-definition displays with more channels, more options and better connectivity.
Creating a home-from-home experience, with MediaSuite guests also have access to thousands of popular apps via the Play Store, plus the ability to stream and view their own content from their personal devices, whether it be photos, videos, movies or even work presentations, all using the Chromecast built-in feature.*
TVs can be controlled and managed entirely remotely allowing, if hoteliers choose, for bespoke marketing and personalized messaging on each display, either individually or en-masse. Eliminating the need for lengthy manual retuning or updating by staff and ensuring a consistent experience in each room. What’s more, built on an Android TVTM OS and as part of PPDS’ extended lifetime guarantee, MediaSuite TVs are eligible for full software upgrades whenever available – bringing all the latest features found on newer models and reducing the need, cost and frequency for replacements.
