This industry requires individuals with hard work, dedication, passion and above all the right attitude to perform and grow.

Editor: What are the attributes you look for while selecting or hiring? If someone wants to work with you, what should they do?

I look for people with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn. Skills can be acquired but right attitude and passion for the job is something that matters the most.

Editor: What according to you can trainees do while they are training at hotels to make it a win-win for them & the hotel/unit?

The most important thing which a trainee should focus on is to acquire at least 1 skill each day. This way, the hotel will also be able to get skilled manpower and the trainee would become much more hands-on with each passing day.

Editor: What are some of the trends you see impacting the hospitality industry?

We are Karma Lakelands have realised the importance of technology and hence are investing in a platform like CRM, Digital menus and directory, Mobile check-in/out the application, golf booking app & QR code-based reservation.

I feel its time that our industry starts looking towards sustainable and responsibility hospitality which is in harmony with the environment. We at Karma Lakelands not just encouraged responsible luxury but also practice it. The other thing would be to focus on the employee wellbeing and engagement

Editor: What can we expect in the coming year?

Although the industry right now is fighting the COVID19 storm, however, I feel that we would sail through this uncertain times and revival would happen by the third quarter of this year.
