Editor: Tell us about your journey. How did it all start?

My Journey started two & half-decade back in 95-96, after finishing my Diploma from FCI with Taj Palace New Delhi, had a fantastic learning experience, when I was hardly 20 years old, worked with some of the Great Legends like Mr. SP Warty-my first GM, Mr. Vijay Handa-My Manager(IRD), Ms. Padmini Mishra-L&D Manager-Have been part of pre-opening of TAJ Chandigarh-1st 5 star hotel(2005), then moved on in 2008 & worked with some of the luxury 5-star hotels like The Lalit Jaipur-2012, TAJ Dwarka-new Delhi-2014, Lemon tree, Sarovar Group & standalone like Haveli Jalandhar-True Legend on HIGHWAY concept.

Editor: What do you think it takes to succeed in this industry?

The Hotel Industry-required discipline, 100% focus, Goal-oriented & dedication to achieve it in a time frame. Most important is having the skill to mould yourself according to the situation.

Editor: What are the attributes you look for while selecting or hiring? If someone wants to work with you, what should they do?

For me selecting any candidate for any role- most important is a positive attitude, eagerness to mould & learn as per the situation, Role, or place we are working. A good learner and perform as per company desire. Past experience I will also look for mid or senior positions.

Editor: What advice would you give to a young, aspiring hotelier for their internship?
Dedication, commitment, and loyalty to achieve the best results for their future & company growth.

Editor: What are some of the trends you see impacting the hospitality industry?

Technology-Reshaping our industry, the desire of a Guest is increasing day by day, Slowly & steadily we need to adapt to new trends & technology coming to market-means we need to be updated with market trends & new technology for better services.

Editor: Two things you would like to change in the industry.

Old School standards & ethics of Hotel Services, Love and Passion towards guest-Ln’D of our staff is on my top priority.
