MARRIOTT INTERNATIONAL CELEBRATES SUSTAINABILITY & GREEN EFFORTS BY PLANTING 22,222 TREES ACROSS ITS HOTELS IN SOUTH ASIA

This move is in alignment with Marriott’s global sustainability goals working towards making a positive impact on the environment

 India, April 2023 – To commemorate World Earth Day and take a leap towards sustainability and environmental consciousness, Marriott International hotels achieved planting 22,222 saplings across forty cities. This is an ongoing commitment towards its sustainability goals through Marriott International's Serve 360, a social impact platform of "Doing Good in Every Direction".

This plantation drive involved associates and guests. Innovative initiatives were adopted by hotel teams to involve guests to plant saplings, a rewarding activity that brought everyone closer to nature and highlighted the need for each one to play their part in building a greener and more sustainable future.

Marriott International has been at the forefront of sustainable practices across the globe and has taken significant steps towards reducing their carbon footprint throughout their operations. The overarching sustainability goals include - reducing greenhouse gas emissions considerably by 2025 and sourcing 100% of their electricity from renewable sources.
