Novotel Vijayawada Varun ushered in the holiday season with a wholesome Tree Lighting Ceremony

The holiday season is here, and the air is filled with the spirit of festivity. To kick start the celebrations, Novotel Vijayawada Varun hosted its annual Tree Lighting ceremony to welcome the warmth of Christmas. 

As a traditional ritual, the hotel decorated the gigantic Christmas tree with oomph and zest. Elements like live carol singing, the lighting of the spectacular Christmas tree, and a special surprise from Santa made the evening filled with cheer, laughter, and merriment. The hotel's culinary team prepared a festive menu for the guests which included a plum cake made from the merry cake mixture made in November. The hotel also unveiled its Christmas Goodies full of treats and deliciousness for this season.

Since the hotel’s opening, it has been the guests first choice for celebrations in the city and this much-loved event was no exception.

Executive Chef Suraj Kumar Sahoo along with his team, the kids from Apple Foundation, special invitees and guests of the hotel took part in this festive ceremony with renewed excitement, pomp and cheer. The event at this scenic location set in motion with guests donning aprons and gloves, mixing the merry mixture of candied fruits, assorted nuts and alcohol varieties was a sight to behold. The evening showcased delectable hi-tea preparations and refreshing drinks that kept the guests spirits high throughout the ceremony.

On this occasion of Cake mixing ceremony, Abhishek Pani, Hotel Manager, Novotel Vijayawada Varun expressed, “The community binding activity of cake mixing where we all get together to celebrate good tidings has always been a personal favourite event. The preps for this ceremony usually begin months in advance and is worth the wait every time as it merrily marks the beginning of the Christmas celebrations and restores the belief that it would bring another abundant year.

Novotel Vijayawada Varun promotes green hospitality with Accor’s Planet 21 initiatives

Vijayawada: Novotel Vijayawada Varun has been at the forefront of introducing green practices in the Indian hospitality industry with Accor’s global sustainable development program, Planet 21. From replacing the vehicle commute with a walk towards the hotel every 21st of the month to a tree plantation activity on the premises by the employees, the hotel prides itself on the small practices that make a big impact.

Novotel Vijayawada Varun’s initiatives have resulted in it being the only hotel in the city to have an EV charging station with an aim to promote electric mobility. In addition to building an EV station, the hotel’s other notable initiatives like using electric bikes/bicycles for local commute, a vertical herbal garden, an in-house compost machine, and similar are all directed towards shaping the future of responsible travel.
