IHG to bring another voco hotel to India with the signing of voco Goa Arpora

IHG® Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading hotel companies, has announced the signing of a management agreement with Ginger Tree Goveia to bring a new hotel to Goa, India. voco Goa Arpora is set to open its doors in January 2025 as the next stride forward in IHG’s ambitious regional growth strategy for the premium brand.

Earlier this year, IHG announced the signing of two voco hotels in the country across Jim Corbett and Gurugram. The latest signing marks the rapid expansion of– voco - IHG’s seventhbrand in the country in a prime leisure destination and further strengthens IHG’s footprint in the country.

The distinctive brand, voco offers a premium experience to guests and combines the informality and charm of an individual hotel with the quality and reassurance of a global and respected brand. IHG Hotels & Resorts debuts its voco brand in Japan with the opening of voco Osaka Central

 IHG Hotels & Resorts – one of the world’s leading hotel companies with over 6,000 hotels across 18 distinct brands – has debuted its premium voco hotels brand in Japan with the opening of voco Osaka Central. Opened in partnership with UD Hospitality Management, voco Osaka Central offers a refreshingly different accommodation experience in Japan, bringing to life the brand’s charming personality, warm hosted service, bright yellow accents, and step-by-step approach to sustainability.

First launched in 2018, voco hotels is one of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ fastest-growing brands with 46 open hotels and 50 exciting destinations in the pipeline. The brand’s debut in Japan was celebrated with an opening ceremony at voco Osaka Central, attended by guests of honour including NTT Urban Development Corporation, The Zenitaka Corporation and the Osaka Convention and Tourism Bureau. To signify the brand’s commitment to the local community, a spin on the traditional ribbon cutting saw guests simultaneously untie knots in turmeric-dyed furoshiki cloth to emulate the steps voco is taking to help guests tread lightly when they travel.

voco brand to go global with launch in China and US

InterContinental Hotels Group has confirmed it will launch its newest upscale hotel brand, voco, in the United States and Greater China.

The company created and launched the new flag a little over two years ago, focusing on conversion opportunities that combine the informality and charm of an independent hotel, with the quality and reassurance of a respected global brand.

Since then, a mix of 12 conversion and new-build voco hotels have opened across the UKEurope, the Middle East and Australia.

voco continues to generate strong interest from owners too, and with an uplift in conversion activity during the first half of 2020, its expansion into two large and fast-growing markets is a key milestone.

voco currently has a development pipeline of 28 properties will take it into 19 countries over the next five years, while it remains on track to open more than 200 hotels over the next ten years.
