India’s Veteran Chef N. Gopi joins Sodexo as India Head – portfolio and Services

Sodexo is delighted to announce the appointment of Chef N. Gopi in its new profile, India Head, Portfolio and Services for all its segment throughout.

Chef Gopi joins Sodexo from Hyatt International wherein he spent over 14 years with Hyatt from a chef De Cuisine with pre-opening assignment of Hyatt Regency, Chennai and grown with the brand, and his last position as Executive Chef and heading F&B operations. He has been Executive chef for over 10 years with Hyatt and has been heading F&B operations for 5 years. He has worked with iconic Hyatt Properties which includes, Hyatt Regency Mumbai, Hyatt Regency Gurgaon. His last assignment was with Hyatt Regency Pune, where he transformed F&B of the hotel with his concepts, innovation & creative ideas which has created amazing guest experiences.

Chef Gopi started his career with the Taj Group including Taj Mahal hotel where he started his career as trainee and worked in stewarding and grew ranks. Has worked in various Taj Group of Hotels across India including Taj Bengal, Taj Krishna Hyderabad, Taj Blue diamond, Pune, Taj Holiday Village and ama stays and Trails as Cluster Executive Chef.  He has a staggering experience with12 years as Executive chef and 5 years heading culinary and F&B operations.

Joined Hyatt in 2010 as Chef De Cuisine, Hyatt Regency, Chennai and been working in various Hyatt International hotels, including Hyatt Regency Kathmandu, Hyatt Regency Malayatoor Resort, Hyatt’s first forest resort.

As his first position as Executive Chef in Australia in 2008 and been awarded “Chef Of the year – Asia Pacific” and “Best Hotel of the Year, Asia Pacific

Won the award of “Best Restaurant Chef of the year” in Bangalore and “Youngest Executive Chef of the Year”

He was the only chef been awarded “Stylish Chef of the Year

Has competed a Live cook off show with Master Chef Australia fame, Chef Gary Mehigan

He has done 11 pre-openings of both restaurants and hotels in his career and specialized in creating F&B Concepts for restaurants.

In Sodexo, Chef Gopi will be responsible for the culinary enhancement of all the brands of Sodexo, development and standardization of brands and handling key clientele Pan India across all the segments of Sodexo. He will be instrumental in deploying new initiatives, leveraging his creativity and innovative concepts experiences across the segments.

Chef Gopi’s expertise in pre – openings, creating concepts, creativity and innovation will be utilized for enhancement of the brands on Sodexo and F&B enhancement through the unique concepts of culinary trails, innovative food promotions across all segments which will be a strong support system in F&B perspective.

He will be a part of the food platform of Sodexo under the leadership of Chef Saurabh Prakash Saxena, Director, Culinary and Food innovation based in Mumbai.
