With over a decade of luxury hospitality sales experience in multiple cities across India, Mainak Ray has been elevated to the position of Director of Sales at The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat. In his current role, he will be responsible for implementing new sales and marketing strategies in order to boost rooms and events sales at the hotel.
Mainak’s key responsibility include transient and group pricing decisions, preparing budgets and forecasts, developing strategies, curating unique events to support the rooms as well as Food and Beverage sales and positioning the hotel as a preferred wedding destination. He has enjoyed an exponential career growth with top-of-the-line hospitality brands since completing his graduation from University of Calcutta, Kolkata and his Masters in International Management from University Of Sussex, United Kingdom in 2012.
Mainak has a great track record of being a successful sales leader and driving results from the department of sales, marketing and reservations colleagues. He is lauded for his business expertise, people-oriented leadership style, and attention to detail. He started his career with Lebara Mobile U.K. and further established a firm foundation in the hospitality sector. His past roles include leading hotel brands such as Hyatt, Accor, IHG and Oberoi Hotels and Resorts. Mainak is an avid traveler with particular interests in exploring new cultures through food. He also takes keen interest in soccer.
