IHM Ranchi Bags CSR Top Hotel Management Institute of India Award 2025

The Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Ranchi has once again proven its academic and professional excellence by securing the “CSR Top Hotel Management Institute of India Award” for the year 2025. The recognition was bestowed by Competition Success Review (CSR), one of India’s most prestigious career and education magazines, during a formal award ceremony held at Hotel Le Meridien, Windsor Palace, Janpath, New Delhi on 20th April 2025. According to the CSR Ranking Survey 2025, IHM Ranchi achieved the third position nationwide among hotel management institutes. This impressive ranking is the result of a comprehensive evaluation process based on various indicators including admission criteria, placement performances, infrastructure quality, faculty expertise, training programs, academic innovation, and public perception. The institute’s rise from fourth place in the 2024 rankings to third place this year speaks of its growth and consistent quality.

Established in the year 2019, IHM Ranchi, is as an autonomous institution under the Department of Tourism, Government of Jharkhand and affiliated to the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Despite being one of the newer IHM institutes in the country, it has made significant strides in a short period, emerging as a leader in hospitality education. Under the dynamic leadership of Principal Dr. Bhupesh Kumar, the institute has shown an unwavering commitment to excellence. Speaking at the event, Dr. Kumar expressed his pride and gratitude, stating that the award reflects the hard work and dedication of the faculty, staff members and students. This marks the third consecutive year that IHM Ranchi has been recognized in CSR’s top rankings. In addition, the institute has also bagged the seventh position in the GHRDC Hotel Management Institute Ranking Survey 2025, maintaining its place among the top ten institutions in India. Over the years, IHM Ranchi has earned several accolades, including the CSR Top Hotel Management Award in 2023 and 2024, the Best Emerging College title by India Today in 2024, and the sixth position in the GHRDC rankings in 2024.Beyond rankings, the institute has made significant contributions in promoting regional indigenous cuisine. Its efforts to elevate traditional Jharkhandi dishes to national and international platforms were recognized by the India Book of Records in both 2022 and 2023. THE Park Hotels awarded ‘IGBC Green Building - Platinum Certificate’

ASPHL has incorporated sustainable practices such as utilization of renewable energy sources, optimized energy usage, waste recycling and reduction programmes, implementing various water conservation measures to name a few initiatives and innovations that have played an active role in mitigating the environmental impact.

ASPHL is currently in the process of adopting and implementing efficient environmentally friendly green technologies that utilize renewable, emission-free, and clean energy sources like wind to meet electrical consumption needs. We have transitioned to 100 % LED light fixtures and are upgrading to energy-efficient equipment. Two hotels of ASPHL are operating of 100% green energy.

All other Hotels will be energy neutral by 2027.

APSHL is dedicated to achieving a 100% single-use plastic free environment to drive conscious consumptions by adopting alternate sustainable options that are biodegradable. Annually, we have eliminated 19 lakh plastic units per annum including bottles, cutlery, takeaway containers, straws, stirrers, bags among other plastics across the Group. We use advanced water treatment and purification technologies to eradicate the use of plastic water bottles that are replaced with glass water bottles amounting to 12 lakh bottles per year.

ASPHL has partnered with Tata Power to introduce an EV infrastructure across our Hotels Pan India.

With the transition to heat pumps replacing hot water boilers and launching EV Fleet across all locations towards the Company’s planet positive initiatives has led to a savings of 4.50 lacs litres of diesel annually. By 2027, all hotels will operate with a fully electric fleet, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability

Prof. Sudhir Andrews is a highly esteemed figure in the hospitality industry, renowned for his extensive contributions to education and training. As an accomplished author, Prof. Andrews has penned 11 books that are widely recognized and recommended as textbooks in Hotel Management colleges across India. His contributions to hospitality education have earned him numerous accolades, including the prestigious 'Rashtriya Gaurav Award' and the 'Rajiv Gandhi Award,' among others. 

 During the inaugural ceremony, Prof. Andrews delivered a keynote speech on the future of AI for the hospitality sector. He highlighted how AI technologies can enhance operational efficiency, improve customer experiences, and drive sustainable practices within the industry. Prof. Andrews emphasized the urgent need for the industry to adapt to changing consumer expectations and environmental challenges. He encouraged students and industry professionals alike to embrace innovative technologies while prioritizing sustainable practices that contribute to the well-being of communities and the planet.

Last year the prestigious lifetime achievement award was conferred to Mr. S.K. Mishra, former IAS, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Government of India. He was Awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2009. 

Prof. Andrews' expertise and vision for a sustainable and technologically advanced industry left a lasting impression on all attendees, inspiring them to rethink their approaches to hospitality and tourism in the context of AI and sustainability. Banyan Tree Samui Scoops 3 Major Awards in 1 Week

There was a celebratory mood recently at Banyan Tree Samui, a luxury beachfront resort in southern Thailand, after the hotel was recognised with three independent international awards in the space of one week.

The French-based MiICHELIN Guide, famed for its accreditation of “stars” to the most exquisite restaurants, has for the first time introduced a ranking system of “keys” to acclaim the most outstanding hotels in the world. The 2024 MICHELIN Guide hotel selection in Thailand included a total of eight Three-Key hotels (its highest decoration), 19 Two-Key hotels, and 31 One Key hotels. Each hotel had been anonymously visited and assessed by MICHELIN inspectors.

Banyan Tree Samui, and its sister resort Banyan Tree Krabi on Thailand’s western Andaman Sea coast, were both recognised by the new MICHELIN Guide with two “keys”.

“These [all MICHELIN’s recommended hotels and resorts] are places that significantly add to your experience as a traveller” read the MICHELIN Guide announcement on September 24, “each vetted and judged excellent in five categories: architecture and interior design; quality and consistency of service; overall personality and character; value for the price; and a significant contribution to the guest experience in a particular setting.”

No sooner had the champagne settled when, on October 1, the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2024 were announced. New York-based Condé Nast Traveler is arguably the leading luxury travel magazine in the world and the announcement of its annual Readers’ Choice Awards is an eagerly anticipated event in the calendar of the global hospitality community.

Online voting for the world’s favourite hotels, resorts and spas ran from April through June this year, with more than 575,000 votes cast.

In the category of Top Resorts in Thailand, Banyan Tree Samui polled third with a 95.16 score.

The placement marked a jump up the rankings for Banyan Tree Samui, which finished 5th in 2023, while Banyan Tree Krabi had come in 4th in the Top Resorts in Thailand awards.

In between those announcements, Area General Area General Manager Remko Kroesen was on hand in Bangkok to receive an accolade on 26 September 2024 when he was presented with the “Best Luxury Hotel - Koh Samui” prize at the 33rd Annual TTG Travel Awards 2024 Ceremony & Gala Dinner

The prestigious TTG Travel Awards honours the best in the Southeast Asian hospitality industry, with readers’ votes including many of the region’s travel agents and tour operators.

Opened in 2010, the 88-key Banyan Tree Samui is a luxury all-pool villa resort. The 38-acre property is rich in flora and plant life, and its private beach is flanked by coral reefs. The resort hosts three restaurants, a spa with Banyan Tree’s signature Rainforest hydrotherapy facility, a fitness centre, a kids’ club, a meetings and events centre, and a library.

Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi Named One of Asia’s 20 Best Hotels by Travel + Leisure

The iconic luxury hotel in Vietnam earns one of the global hospitality industry’s top honors

HANOI, Vietnam (July 2024) — Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, the 123-year-old luxury hotel in Vietnam’s capital, was named one of Asia’s 20 best city hotels in Travel + Leisure magazine’s annual “World’s Best Awards.”

The prestigious recognition – one of the most coveted in the global hospitality industry – puts Metropole Hanoi in rarefied company, as one of only two hotels in Vietnam to make the list. More than 186,000 T+L readers cast votes in the 2024 survey for their favorite hotels, resorts, cities, cruise lines and more.

“This award from Travel + Leisure is particularly meaningful this year as we continue to celebrate the opening of a new chapter in our hotel’s storied history with the successful relaunch of our Heritage Wing following an extensive and inspired refurbishment,” Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi General Manager George Koumendakos said.

Earlier this year, the influential U.S.-based travel magazine Travel + Leisure also named Metropole Hanoi one of the “World’s 500 Best Hotels” and Forbes Travel Guide awarded the hotel a Five-Star rating, its top level of recognition, for a fifth consecutive year.
