November 2023: Piccadily Distilleries announces the launch of Camikara 3 Years Old (YO) – a 100% pure cane juice rum, aged in American oak barrels for three years. Unlike most Indian rums produced using molasses or grain ENA, Camikara takes pride in being India’s first premium, pure cane juice rum. Vistara Inaugurates Direct Flights Between Mumbai And Frankfurt

PRS Oberoi, doyen of Indian hospitality, passes away

Oberoi is known as the man who changed the face of hotel industry in India. He has left behind a legacy of impeccable hospitality

Prithvi Raj Singh Oberoi, the doyen of Indian hospitality and Chairman Emeritus of the Oberoi Group, passed away on November 14 morning, leaving behind a legacy of impeccable hospitality.

The former executive chairman of EIH Limited, The Oberoi Group flagship, is known as the man who changed the face of the hotels business in India. "In addition to providing leadership for the management of luxury hotels in several countries, Oberoi has been instrumental in pioneering the development of Oberoi Hotels and Resorts. The Oberoi brand has come to represent fine luxury hotels," reads the Oberoi Group website.

"PRS Oberoi is credited with placing Oberoi hotels on the international luxury travellers map with the opening of several luxury hotels in important cities."

Oberoi was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, the country's second highest civilian honour, in January 2008. The International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) conferred him with the Lifetime Achievement Award in December 2012 as a global recognition of his exceptional leadership, vision and contribution to develop The Oberoi Group as one of the world's leading luxury hotel chains.

The HOTELS magazine recognized PRS Oberoi as the '2010 Corporate Hotelier of the World' through votes cast by its readers across more than 150 countries. The cover story of the November edition of the magazine referred to him as "the founder father of modern luxury hospitality in India" and credited him with growing the company "into one of the world's most prestigious luxury hotel groups".

Among the host of organizations that have awarded PRS Oberoi for his lifetime achievements, features the CNBC TV-18 India Business Leader Awards 2007 for building a world-class hotel chain that caters to both luxury and business travellers and for shaping the hospitality industry of the country. Accor | Third-quarter 2023 revenue of €1,286 million up 13% like-for-like

Sébastien Bazin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Accor, said:

“The Group’s strong performance during the quarter illustrates once again the strength of business momentum in all of our markets, notably in Asia, and for the brands in our two segments: Premium, Midscale and Economy, on the one hand, and Luxury and Lifestyle on the other. For Accor, this is the 6th consecutive quarter of growth since the return to post-pandemic business levels. These positive trends and our strict financial and operational discipline enable us, once again, to raise our RevPAR and EBITDA guidance for the year."

Hotel demand remained very strong throughout Q3 with RevPAR up 15% compared with prior year despite a very high comparable basis (RevPAR in Q3 2022 was up 14% compared with Q3 2019).

The underlying dynamics observed in previous quarters remained constant, with average price still high and a marked improvement in the occupancy rate which slightly lags the level of 2019.

All regions and segments contributed through solid operating performances, even if the first signs of normalization of activity growth are materializing after several quarters of intense recovery.

In third-quarter 2023, Accor opened 73 hotels, for around 9,200 rooms, and has thus achieved net unit growth of 3% over the last 12 months. At end-September 2023, the Group had a hotel portfolio of 812,425 rooms (5,537 hotels) and a pipeline of around 219,000 rooms (1,273 hotels).

For 2023, the Group is confirming its forecast of net unit growth in the network between 2% and 3%.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation ("Hyatt" or the "Company") (NYSE: H) today reported third quarter 2023 financial results. Highlights include:

  • Comparable system-wide RevPAR increased 8.9% in the third quarter of 2023 compared to 2022.

Marriott International Reports Third Quarter 2023 Results

Third quarter 2023 comparable systemwide constant dollar RevPAR increased 8.8 percent worldwide, 4.3 percent in the U.S. & Canada, and 21.8 percent in international markets, compared to the 2022 third quarter;

  • Adjusted EBITDA totaled $1,142 million in the 2023 third quarter, compared to third quarter 2022 adjusted EBITDA of $985 million;

  • The company added approximately 17,200 rooms globally during the third quarter, including roughly 13,000 rooms in international markets and more than 4,900 conversion rooms;

  • At the end of the quarter, Marriott’s worldwide development pipeline totaled more than 3,200 properties and nearly 557,000 rooms, including roughly 40,300 of pipeline rooms approved, but not yet subject to signed contracts. Approximately 238,000 rooms in the pipeline were under construction as of the end of the third quarter;

  • Marriott repurchased 4.8 million shares of common stock for $950 million during the third quarter. Year to date through October 31, the company has returned $3.7 billion to shareholders through dividends and share repurchases.

IHG adds 350-keys to its Punjab portfolio with a dual hotel signing

The signing will see the debut of Crowne Plaza in Punjab and the expansion of Holiday Inn brand in Zirakpur Both hotels will add 100,000 sq. ft of meeting space to capture MICE opportunities

IHG® Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading hotel companies, has signed a management agreement with NK Sharma Hospitality Pvt Ltd to develop two new hotels in the Chandigarh tri-city area - Crowne Plaza Chandigarh Zirakpur in the premium segment and Holiday Inn & Suites Chandigarh Zirakpur from the essentials collection. Currently under construction, both hotels are scheduled to open in January 2027.

Complementing Holiday Inn Chandigarh Panchkula and Holiday Inn Chandigarh Zirakpur, the dual signing will strengthen IHG’s offerings in Punjab and add over 350 keys to the company’s portfolio in the state. Forming a cluster in Zirakpur, the new hotels will be strategically located adjacent to National Highway 22, one of the busiest highways in India, attracting travellers from nearby cities and towns.

Once opened, both Crowne Plaza Chandigarh Zirakpur and Holiday Inn & Suites Chandigarh Zirakpur will be positioned amongst the large banqueting facilities, with approximately 100,000 sq ft of meeting space, poised to meet the high demand for weddings, conferences, and events from Zirakpur, Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula and Dera Bassi. Situated in close proximity to Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Uttarakhand, the hotels will tap into guests seeking ideal stopovers for travelers on leisure trips
