SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA, 2025—Anacove, the pioneering developer of AI-enabled, cloud-connected energy management solutions for the global hotel industry, today announced the formal market introduction of its Anacove Smart Thermostat. This thermostat is part of a complete line of energy management solutions that also includes Anacove Staff Safety Alerts, Toilet Leak Detectors, and Asset Tracking Services.

In tests with leading hotels for the last two years, including IHG Hotels, who have designated Anacove a preferred vendor, Anacove Smart Thermostats are now available to every hotel owner-operator who wants to minimize their energy costs while maximizing the comfort level of their guests.
“Until now, hotel owner-operators have been forced to make trade-offs between energy management and guest comfort,” explained Anacove, CEO Ian Lerner. “The challenge of balancing the effective use of energy without negatively affecting the comfort of their guests has resulted in inefficient choices that end up costing owner-operators a lot of money. Now, with Anacove Smart Thermostats, hotel owner-operators have total control over the entire spectrum of energy management in ways that ensure maximum guest comfort and maximum energy cost savings.”

Designed and engineered for 21st century energy management, Anacove Smart Thermostats are innovative IoT devices with advanced sensors that monitor temperature, humidity, air quality, and guest presence. Unprecedented Centralized Management:

The plug-and-play system can be set up by the hotel’s maintenance team or independent contractors without the need for additional wiring. Virtually maintenance-free, the system is updated via the Internet. The solution solves the unique challenges of hotel owners by bringing immediate value through energy optimization, while enabling ongoing, long term data-driven improvements. It orchestrates HVAC systems across the property to avoid system-wide inefficiencies such as peak consumption charges, while ensuring guest comfort. Milestone Moment as Four Seasons Resorts Maldives Plant 9000th Coral Frame

The blue-hued Maldives are renowned for marking milestone moments. At Four Seasons Resorts Maldives, a very special celebration has taken place this month; one that impacts the future of the islands themselves. In partnership with Reefscapers, the Resorts planted their 9000th coral frame in the ocean, the latest landmark in a series of pioneering marine conservation projects that span more than two decades.

One of the most successful coral restoration projects of its kind in the world, the reef regeneration efforts at Four Seasons Resorts Maldives were born in the wake of the 1997-1998 El Nino bleaching event. Coastal oceanographer Thomas Le Berre of Seamarc Pvt. - now Reefscapers - approached the then new-to-the-Maldives Four Seasons with his dreams of coral propagation. A visionary partnership was born, leading to one of the Indian Ocean’s largest masses of artificial reefs to date covering 3.05 acres (2,351 square metres).

Supported by Four Seasons, Thomas’s research led to the development of a revolutionary coral frame technique.  Now adopted by conservationists worldwide, it involves attaching small coral fragments onto metal frames that are then planted on the seabed to regenerate coral reefs.

Like the coral it supports, the project has grown in myriad ways over the years. The coral propagation success at Four Seasons Resorts Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru and Kuda Huraa led to Marine Discovery Centres at both Resorts served by a team of 11 full-time marine biologists. Marine conservation projects there include coral spawning research, sea turtle rehabilitation, and a Fish Lab to breed ornamental reef fish in captivity, reducing pressures on the natural reef. Landaa also became the birthplace of The Manta Trust - now a global charity dedicated to the worldwide protection of manta rays.

Reefscapers and Four Seasons continue to evolve reef restoration. Resort guests at Four Seasons two resort islands as well as Four Seasons Private Island at Voavah can transplant their own reef and watch it grow via online photo updates. In 2020, the onsite development of an AI catamaran that uses robotics to improve monitoring efforts led to the publication of the world’s largest coral restoration study to date in peer-reviewed journal Nature Ecology & Evolution, using Artificial Intelligence to assess, analyse and record data.

Climate change poses a huge threat to a country reliant on coral reefs. In 2016, the teams were devastated when 90 percent of the shallow water corals in Baa died in a bleaching event. When a mass bleaching event was predicted in 2024, the onsite Reefscapers teams were able to take preventative action, relocating an incredible 28,000 corals – between 450 and 500 frames – from shallow 2-3 metre sites to depths of 6-12 metres in a bid to save them.

On nearby island Fulhadhoo, building the coral frames supports the local economy. The frames are made from metal rebars and coated in a special mix of sand and resin to protect them from corrosion. Fragments of Acropora corals - collected from local healthy mature colonies - are attached securely before the frame is labelled, planted in the reef and photographed for monitoring purposes.

“Our 9,000th coral frame is an uplifting milestone for us," comments Armando Kraenzlin, Regional Vice President and General Manager at Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru. "The Reefscapers teams at Four Seasons Resorts Maldives are all inspired by a shared love for the ocean and a determination to protect it from harm caused by human actions. As the restoration sites grow, we are seeing significant growth in the numbers of smaller species that live in and around the coral. This in turn attracts larger animals including sharks, eagle rays and turtles around the sites - restoring hope with every frame.”

The Reefscapers teams at Landaa Giraavaru, Kuda Huraa and Voavah know that one of the most important aspects of reef regeneration is education. School visits to local islands spread the conservation message and inspire a sense of custodianship of the reefs. Landaa also runs a marine biology internship for local students that is now in its third year, while guests at both resorts can learn about the pioneering project through hands-on reef building, as well as immersive programs for juniors at Kuda Huraa and Trainee Marine Savers modules for environmentally minded teens at Landaa Giraavaru.

Four Seasons also sponsors a number of frames every week, although the majority are sponsored by guests. "A key part of our role here is to spread knowledge and spark interest," concludes Armando. "What happens next is largely down to the passion, drive and commitment of those who visit the Maldives and choose to become the ocean stewards of the future through involvement in sponsorship programs and internships. When it comes to marine conservation, we are all in this together."

Slurp, Savour and Support! Nostalgia’s Second Outlet in Pali Naka Focuses on Local Heritage, Community Collaboration, and a ‘Bring Your Own Fruit’ Concept

Nostalgia in Bandra is one of the few spots in Mumbai’s vibrant cafe landscape that takes you down memory lane. This cosy cafe in a heritage bungalow beautifully rekindled childhood memories, offered comfort and won the trust of anyone who walked in for a cup of coffee with their homely ambience. They are now launching a new outlet at Pali Naka with an altogether different concept. This time, the focus is on honouring Mumbai’s hyperlocal food heritage by weaving together their legacy of railway canteens with meaningful community collaborations and partnerships with local fruit vendors.

The new outlet is a takeaway spot for fresh beverages and ice-creams, along with savoury snacks from Kerala and Mangalore. A standout on their menu is Iced Filter Coffee and Filter Coffee Affogato, giving the beloved South Indian classic a cool twist. One of the highlights of the new outlet is a ‘Bring your own fruit’ concept where you can buy fresh fruits from the vendors right outside the outlet, walk in to have them on your softies and relish them on the go. To keep up with seasonal fruits, they have a soft-serve machine, so get fresh strawberries or mangoes chopped up on your ice-creams. Drop by, pick a fruit and have it customised for you on the frozen desserts. The idea is also to help the fruit vendors outside and grow together as a community.

This is not just an expansion but creating unique stories and concepts around Nostalgia while staying true to its roots. The new outlet pays tribute to founder Sinan Khader’s grandfather, who began his journey at a tea stall at Dadar Central railway station in the 1950s. Over time, he grew to manage 8 stalls in railway canteens, creating a legacy of enterprise. Tiny bits of his railway canteen legacy now lives on at Nostalgia - be it the bun maska or the savoury snacks from Kerala and Mangalore on the racks. It’s a coming together of family heritage to give back to the community.

The next time you’re craving freshly cut strawberries on your vanilla cup or want to revisit the familiar taste of Pallonjis in the summer swelter, stop by Nostalgia in Pali Naka. For an ice-cream run, don’t forget to pick your fruits from the local vendor outside. Sip, savour and smile!

Dusit International expands its presence in India, leading luxury hospitality growth in emerging Tier 2 and 3 cities

Dusit International expands its presence in India, leading luxury hospitality growth in emerging Tier 2 and 3 cities – with a new focus on metro destinations to follow

Building on the successful opening of dusitD2 Fagu, Shimla, Dusit is set to bring its Thai-inspired gracious hospitality to high potential markets across India – including Bhiwadi, Raipur, Lonavala, Kasol, Kolkata, Manali, and Karnataka – while also preparing to target Tier 1 destinations in its next phase of development.

New Delhi, April 2025: Deeping its commitment to India, Dusit International, one of Thailand’s leading hotel and property development companies, has announced plans to expand its presence in the country by launching its luxury and upper midscale brands in key emerging markets.

With rising disposable incomes, increasing demand for premium stays, and enhanced connectivity reshaping India’s hospitality landscape, Dusit is focused on underserved yet high-potential markets nationwide.

In addition to exploring opportunities in India’s Tier 1 cities, Dusit also aims to target Tier 2 and Tier 3 destinations where luxury and upscale hospitality options are currently limited – creating opportunities to deliver curated, high-end experiences tailored to local demand. This strategic expansion builds on the momentum of Dusit’s recent foray into the Indian market with the opening of the contemporary, upscale dusitD2 Fagu, Shimla in December 2024, and the signings of three key properties in Karnataka: the wellness-focused Devarana Sakleshpur, Karnataka – A Dusit Retreat (set to open in 2028), and two upcoming Dusit Princess Hotels & Resorts.

With a diverse brand portfolio spanning the ultra-luxury Devarana – Dusit Retreats to upper midscale and midscale brands such as Dusit Princess and ASAI Hotels, Dusit plans to tap underserved locations where it can leverage its expertise in delivering Thai-inspired gracious hospitality to meet the needs of today’s business and leisure travellers. Prioritising quality over quantity, the company is thoughtfully selecting locations that align with its ethos of premium, experience-driven hospitality – offering a distinctive blend of holistic wellness, contemporary design, and exceptional service.

As part of this vision, Dusit is preparing to launch six additional hotels across the country. The upper-midscale Dusit Princess brand will debut in Raipur (200 keys), Bhiwadi (165 keys), Kolkata (220 keys), and Lonavala (120 keys). Meanwhile, two boutique luxury properties under the recently introduced Dusit Collection brand – in Kasol and Manali (each with 40 rooms) – will offer refined escapes in the Himalayan foothills.

“India represents an exceptional growth opportunity for Dusit – across major metros and particularly in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, where premium hospitality options remain limited despite strong demand,” said Mr Siradej Donavanik, Vice President – Development (Global), Dusit International. “The country’s tourism industry is evolving rapidly, with increasing demand for high-quality, experience-driven stays.
