Rikard Nilsson, a Swedish national, was appointed as the Vice President for Culinary at Atmosphere Core in August 2023. Rikard is an award-winning, progressive culinary professional with over 35 years of experience in establishments, including world-class restaurants, culinary advisory boards, competitions, and culinary consulting.

Christopher Baker joined Atmosphere Core as the General Manager of OBLU SELECT Lobigili & OBLU XPERIENCE Ailafushi in August 2023, bringing with him over 25 years of international experience. Philippe Claverotte is now an integral part of a Special Task Force overseeing upcoming projects. He moved to this tactical corporate role after serving as the Vice President and general Manager of VARU By Atmosphere. Under his sharp leadership, VARU By Atmosphere has received multiple accolades, including the Maldives’ leading resorts at the World Travel Awards (WTA) 2023.

Mei P Pun, hailing from Malaysia, took over the baton from Philippe Claverotte, joining as the General Manager of VARU By Atmosphere. She has 20 years of international experience, and previously served as the GM of Atmosphere Kanifushi. Under her stewardship Atmosphere Kanifushi won multiple accolades including Maldives' Leading Family Resort at WTA 2023. Passionate about nature and conservation, Mei feels fortunate to spend her days surrounded by sand and sea. Ram Bhoyroo switches brands, taking over as the General Manager of Atmosphere Kanifushi. Prior to this, he served as the General Manager of OBLU SELECT Lobigili & OBLU XPERIENCE Ailafushi. A passionate leader hailing from Mauritius, Ram brings years of successful international experience and believes that extending gracious hospitality is the highest form of service. During his tenure, OBLU SELECT Lobigili was recognised as the Number 1 new resort in the world by Trip Advisor Travelers Choice Award 2023.


Lisa Gerosa assumed the mantle of General Manager at OBLU SELECT Sangeli moving from OBLU NATURE Helengeli, as a part of the initiative to develop internal talent. Hailing from Italy, Lisa has more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry and for the last 9 years she has held managerial positions with leading companies across the globe, sharpening business analysis, budgeting, and operations management expertise. INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit Welcomes Executive Chef

BANGKOK (November 2023) – Drawing on more than two decades of experience with some of the most popular hotel brands in Thailand, Katisak Pinkaew has been named the executive chef at the Kingdom’s first INNSiDE by Meliá Hotel.

The Thailand-born chef will take charge of the eclectic dining scene at INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit, which debuted in July this year in Bangkok’s On Nut neighbourhood, after working as executive chef at the Novotel Bangkok Bangna and Siam@Siam Design Hotel Bangkok for two years each.

Previously, he was the executive sous chef at Avani Atrium Bangkok for four years. He has also worked at the InterContinental Resort Hua Hin as senior sous chef, at Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok and DoubleTree by Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok as an outlet chef, Mercure Pattaya Ocean Resort as executive chef, and at Ramada Encore Bangkok as chef de cuisine. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Kitchen and Restaurant Management) from Bangkok’s Dusit Thani College.

In his new position, he will take charge of INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit’s culinary operations, with a host of responsibilities ranging from creating vibrant menus and dining experiences to budgeting, resource planning, forecasting and waste management.

Amaan Kidwai is now ITC Hotels Area Manager for Luxury Hotels (North) & General Manager – ITC Maurya. Amaan has been entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing ITC Hotels' operations in the Northern region of India while also helming operations at ITC Maurya, New Delhi. 

In his role as Area Manager, Luxury Hotels (North) Amaan will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence across all ITC Hotels (ITC Maurya-New Delhi, ITC Grand Bharat-Gurugram, ITC Mughal-Agra & ITC Rajputana-Jaipur) and properties under brand Mementos in this region.

Anam Group Names Three Senior Recruits Amid Post-Pandemic Surge

The Anam Group has appointed a resort manager and culinary director at its Cam Ranh resort and an executive assistant manager at its new Mui Ne property on the back of its surprisingly strong business performance post-COVID. 

The Anam Cam Ranh has welcomed both Norbert Meyer, a German national equipped with more than 20 years of hospitality experience, as resort manager and New Zealander Geoffrey Crabbe, a hospitality veteran with three decades’ experience, as culinary director. The Anam Mui Ne, which celebrated its grand opening in January this year, has named French-born Victor Joyeux, who began his hospitality career 17 years ago, as executive assistant manager.

Meyer returns to The Anam Cam Ranh after previously working at the 12-hectare resort for more than two years, from January 2018, as resident manager and acting general manager. His career has seen him work for major international hospitality brands in Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and mainland China. Before he embarked on his hospitality career, he was a master sergeant in the German military.

Crabbe joins The Anam Cam Ranh after working as operational manager and executive chef at The Grand Cathedral Square, in New Zealand’s Christchurch, where he was tasked with building two restaurants, two bars, a pastry kitchen, bakery, deli and Italian pizzeria. Previously, he worked as an executive chef at a string of high-end hotels and restaurants in New Zealand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Australia, Fiji and South Africa including Anantara’s resorts in Siem Reap and Mui Ne. 

Prior to his new role, Joyuex worked as acting resort manager and director of food and beverage at Premier Residences Phu Quoc. He has worked in F&B and guest relations positions at hotels in Danang, Myanmar, Thailand, Switzerland and the Maldives.  

The Anam Group’s group General Manager Laurent Myter said the “surprisingly strong” business performance across the two properties in recent times had given the group the luxury of significant additional investments in human resources as well as facilities and services. The Anam Cam Ranh’s average monthly occupancy has hovered well above 90 percent since June this year, with the daily average rate at the resort higher than in 2019.

“Norbert, Geoffrey and Victor bring a collective breadth and depth of hospitality experience in Vietnam and abroad to the table, helping to further fuel our post-pandemic recovery that has seen business bounce back much sooner than anticipated, and then some,” said The Anam Group’s Group General Manager Laurent Myter. “Even during September, traditionally not the most bullish time after the summer holidays, we experienced an average occupancy of 80 per cent at The Anam Cam Ranh. We have finally cast the shackles of the pandemic off, in spectacular style.”
