/Jharkhand Cookery League Season-3 Awards Announced
Simran Shruti, Richik Roy and Ansh Garg were declared the winners
The Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Ranchi, an Autonomous Institution of the Department of Tourism, Art Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Jharkhand, organized an “Online Cookery League season -3” for all the cooking enthusiast in collaboration with Jharkhand Tourism, Industrial Partner Hotel Radisson Blu Ranchi, & BNR Chanakya. Sunday Cook Show, Hotel Management on the virtual platform of Google Meet. Participation in this contest was free of cost /no entry fee. Participants had to make their recipes on “Traditional Dish of Jharkhand Regional cookery, Indian Vegetarian Dish, & Dessert Category". The presentation of the dish, recipe, authenticity, and creativity including Video presentation played an important role in evaluation by the jury. The participants were evaluated on the basis of Creativity, Process and explanation, Authenticity - Jharkhand tradition dish category only, Ingredients used, Hygiene and cleanliness, and a Maximum number of likes & comments on the uploaded video on YouTube Channel Sunday Cook Show.
In this contest, a total no. of 61 registrations were done and 47 recipe videos were received by the participant from the different institute from all over of India like IHM Pusa, New Delhi, Amity University, Gurugram, The Neotia University, Kolkata, JISA Aurangabad, IHM Chandigarh University, IIMT University Meerut, Satyanarayan Meharali Ramnandancharan Karpuri Mahavidyalaya. Samastipur, Uma Pandey College Pusa, Maharana Pratap Inter College Gorakhpur, U.P., Yashwant Rao Chavan College Maharashtra, KM Agrawal College, Nalanda University, IHM Bhubaneswar, Ranchi Women's College, IHM Silvassa, BCIHMCT, New Delhi, IHM Kolkata, IHM Bhopal, IHM Mumbai, SIHM Durgapur, Amity School of Hospitality, Lucknow, IHM Shillong, Khandra College, Bardhman, ST. Francis Xavier's English Medium School, Andal, Chitkara university IHM, XISS Ranchi, Lovely Professional University, DAV Public school, Ranchi, Atmiya Institute of Technology and Science Rajkot, Gujarat, IHM Dehradun, Gargi girls' School, St. Anne's Sr. Sec. School, Sehore, SRM IHM Sonipat, Krishna Mohan Medical College, Mathura, Sarala Birla University, DAV Public School, Ramgarh, and ICOER Pune. The last date for submission was 10th June 2021 and the results were announced in a virtual ceremony held on 17th June 2021.
The award ceremony was organized virtually. Mr. Shantanu Guha Roy, General Manager, Hotel Radisson Blu Ranchi, a much-awarded Hotel General Manager was Chief Guest of the ceremony and The Jury Member were the Celebrity Chef Nishant Choubey, also known as “The SUSTAINABLE CHEF”, Consulting chef for Michelin plated Indus Bangkok and Corporate chef with Seinan group (Tokyo); Chef Sumit Pant, Chef Trainer, BCIHMCT & Founder, Food Slide, Chef of the year 2017; and Gourmet Chef Meera Singh, founder of the “Sunday Cook Show” the finalist of TV cookery show “Chulkha Cowka” by Anjan TV, Rasoi queen contest organized by COWE in the year 2016 & 2017 and Winner at Kitchen Star contest held in 2018.
The ceremony commenced with Saraswati Vandana followed by a welcome address by the Principal of IHM Ranchi, Dr. Bhupesh Kumar. Chief guest, Mr. Shantanu Guha Roy “appreciated IHM Ranchi for great work and told that in the coming time the hotel industry will revive and people will make a better future in this industry”, Celebrity Chef Nishant Choubey explained “the Michelin star chef ratings and appreciated the recipe videos from the participants.” Chef Sumit Pant “guided the participants to research the history and nutritional value of the dishes prepared by them” and Chef Meera Singh “appreciated the participation of all the participants as well as asked the participants to pay attention to the use of ingredients, kitchen utensils and the method of preparation while cooking”.
Ms. Simran Shruti, student of IHM Ranchi, in the Dessert category, Mr. Ansh Garg, a student of IHM Pusa in the Vegetarian dish category, and Mr. Richik Roy, a student of IHM Kolkata in the Jharkhand Cuisine Category, were announced the winners, while Pratibha Toppo, student of IHM Ranchi was given the Consolation prize for Jury Choice and Ankita Verma student of DAV Public School, Giddi, Ramgarh, Jharkhand was awarded the consolation prize for Sponsor's Choice. The Principal of the Institute, Dr. Bhupesh Kumar praised all the participants and encouraged the participants to keep participating in such events, he also said that in every competition there is only one winner but, in this contest, all are winners.
The program was anchored by Ms. Niharika Singh a final year student of IHM Ranchi and the Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Ankit Raj, the final year student at IHM Ranchi.
All the Winners were given Certificate of Excellence
