SLTPB being the Main Sponsor for the 3day event in Sri Lanka, is looking forward to showcase their products and services to the Indian stakeholder partners, who shall boost bi-lateral Tourism into and from Sri Lanka. We have survived a tough phase and now have embarked the revival journey with positivity and vigour. Our mission is to build trust and confidence to deal with the challenges that exist in the new normal and move forward with a unified strategy for future sustenance through collaborations.”

“Our Convention logo, theme, brochure and the entire program will revolve around building a positive vibe and brainstorming to find ways and means through which the global tourism fraternity is coming together to embrace synergies for a brighter future,” she added.

Sri Lanka Tourism Chairperson, Kimarli Fernando stated, “It is a pleasure to partner with TAAI to host its 66th Convention and Exhibition in Sri Lanka. India being one of the main source markets for Sri Lanka, TAAI Convention is a great opportunity to promote tourism experiences of Sri Lanka to the Indian market. Key tourism product segments such as culture, and religious tourism, weddings, films will have a great potential in attracting Indian travellers. India has become a vital market for Sri Lanka Tourism in a post pandemic environment with many airlines operating to major tourist generating cities in India. Sri Lanka Tourism believes that the industry stakeholders will take the maximum exposure by engaging with the Indian travel trade during the upcoming TAAI convention.”

Shri Arvind Singh IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, said, “The dynamic global geostrategic and geo-economic landscape is intensifying competition and redefining principles and values on which the regional order should be based. The apparent barriers of the pandemic have created a new kind of catalyst for greater connectivity, cooperation, and co-existence. The vast Indo-Pacific region is home to more than 64 per cent of the world’s population and accounts for 62 per cent of global GDP. India and Sri Lanka are two very important countries in terms of tourism and the 66th TAAI Convention will provide a valuable opportunity to tourism stakeholders to collaborate for trade and business with the fast-growing Indian outbound Industry. I am glad to know that TAAI will promote ‘Inbound into India’ as an important subject at this convention and will strive to attract Sri Lankans to connect well with India.”

The dignitaries and officials from TAAI unveiled the Convention Brochure and Logo in the presence of industry professionals, representatives from Sri Lanka Tourism, SLAITO and Sri Lanka High Commission. Officials from MoT, GOI and from SLAITO had also joined in virtually to attend the event.

“With the global aviation and economies opening up for tourism, especially in the light of commercial flights restarting from March 27, there is no better time than now to hold this Convention. We – the travel trade of India, can reiterate with confidence to the traveller by ourselves travelling overseas with renewed vigour. TAAI has taken this rightful opportunity to hold this Indian Travel Congress in Sri Lanka, so as to facilitate international mobility amongst our members and the trade at large. This shall give us all a platform to ‘Collaborate to Conquer’ with all our stakeholder partners in India and overseas,” said Jay Bhatia, Vice President, TAAI.

Mr. Ravindran Veeraperumal, Regional Manager – India & Bangladesh – SriLankan Airlines, gave an exhaustive and enlightening presentation on the airline’s operations and its expansion plans for the future. The airline is also the official airline sponsor for the 66th Convention & Exhibition of TAAI in Colombo this year.

Secretary General, TAAI said, “Sri Lanka has always been one of the favourite destinations for Indians and now with the international skies opening up, it is an ideal destination for hosting the convention. The Luxury Collection Debuts Hotel Clio in the Heart of Denver’s Vibrant Cherry Creek Neighborhood

Hotel Clio, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Denver Cherry Creek brings authentic epicurean moments and bespoke offerings to the Mile High City

The Luxury Collection, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of 30 extraordinary hotel brands, today announced the opening of Hotel Clio, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Denver Cherry Creek. Owned by DiamondRock Hospitality Company and operated by Sage Hospitality Group, the luxury hotel nestled in the heart of Denver’s affluent Cherry Creek neighborhood debuts after undergoing a multi-million-dollar transformation, featuring a fully reinvigorated lobby experience along with refreshed interior spaces. Backdropped by the picturesque Rocky Mountains, Hotel Clio is poised to be Cherry Creek’s very own muse, inspiring visitors with enlivened excitement, refreshed sophistication and infusing a spirit of vibrant hospitality into all aspects of the guest experience.

“The opening of Hotel Clio is an exciting moment in the continued expansion of our portfolio of exceptional hotels and resorts across North America,” said Philipp Weghmann, Vice President and Global Brand Leader of The Luxury Collection. “The hotel’s stunning vistas, matched with refined service and singular epicurean experiences, will quickly establish it as one of the premier hospitality offerings in the greater Denver area.”

Situated in the heart of the city’s celebrated shopping and dining district, Hotel Clio boasts 193 spacious and stylish guest rooms and suites. In addition to a myriad of inspiring offerings within Hotel Clio, the property will serve as a gateway to Denver’s most desirable experiences – from the luxurious storefronts of Cherry Creek North to the base of the Rocky Mountains, where an abundance of outdoor adventures await.

Inspired Interiors and Golden Touches
Helmed by Wilson Ishihara Design, Hotel Clio’s interiors take cues from Cherry Creek’s origins in the Gold Rush era paired with the natural surroundings of the destination. Hotel Clio’s namesake “Clio,” the Greek muse of history, is fully realized in the hotel’s heritage-honoring design, grounded in a deep appreciation for the region’s background. Inspired by the story of William Green Russell striking gold at the confluence of Cherry Creek and South Platte River, the interiors reflect a unique sense of discovery and the inspiring hope of good fortune with subtle gold accents complemented by rich earth tones.

Welcomed with a sit-down check-in, Hotel Clio’s Oshibori-style arrival experience is a marvel for the senses – complete with a custom cocktail, hot and cold scented towels infused with the hotel’s signature aroma of White Blossom Tea, and a curated welcome playlist. The high-touch welcome experience is enhanced by thoughtful design details – beautiful marble floors and custom art pieces – all anchored by a grand stone fireplace. The design seamlessly blends influences of the region’s natural elements with touches authentic to the destination, creating a dramatic, yet serene atmosphere. The idea of “confluence,” a term that describes the junction of two rivers, is expressed in the spatial design details – such as flooring evoking the flow of the river, cerused oak, and brass accents highlighted with custom table lamps designed to emulate the look of a gold miner’s lamp.

The hospitality industry sets an ambitious global vision to tackle critical environmental challenges including climate, water, and waste

The hospitality industry sets an ambitious global vision to tackle critical environmental challenges including climate, water, and waste

GCC, March 2022: The Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, the leading global network in responsible hospitality, has launched the Pathway to Net Positive Hospitality for the Planet. The vision of the Pathway is that every hotel around the world can, and must, aim for net positive environmental impacts, whatever their starting point.

Water risk is a key issue that Pathway is seeking to address. Research from the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance found that several key tourism locations across the Middle East and Asia, including Dubai, are at extremely high risk of water stress based on water data and hotel growth. Other environmental issues the industry needs to address are consumption and waste (including food waste). The Pathway supports users to build individualized action plans which are relevant to their specific situation and location.

To achieve the goal of a cleaner and more sustainable Planet, the Pathway provides a practical, four-stage guidance framework as a free resource that supports all parts of the hospitality value chain to progress in a cohesive, strategic manner. It includes detailed action guidance for hotel operators, brands, and asset owners, applicable to both single or multi-unit organizations.

The Pathway recognizes that sustainability is crucially important to the sector’s long-term success. With 83% of global travelers stating that sustainable travel is vital, combined with the vulnerability of the industry to environmental impacts such as water scarcity and climate change, a robust sustainability strategy is now an essential element for all hospitality businesses.

The sequential approach enables hotels to get started with simple actions for climate, water, waste, and biodiversity, such as purchasing renewable electricity, before progressing to more advanced actions, such as installing on-site renewable energy sources.

The Pathway to Net Positive Hospitality has both been created in direct collaboration with the hospitality industry and its value chain, in consultation with environmental and industry experts.

Wolfgang M. Neumann, Sustainable Hospitality Alliance Chair said: “Our Pathway fills the current vacuum of a co-ordinated and focussed strategic plan across the hospitality industry to tackle the urgently needed climate actions. It is a practical tool for any hotel, no matter their starting point, to obtain guidance on how to prioritize and sequence targeted and measurable climate actions. The Alliance wants to encourage all hotels to embrace the journey all the way to net positive. We are spearheading the dialogue beyond having ‘zero’ impact and setting a vision for what we can be put back into the natural world with a lasting ‘positive’ impact on our planet and its people.”

To prioritise supporting the industry with its near-term needs, the first two stages of the Pathway to Net Positive Hospitality launched in March 2022. The final two stages of the Pathway will be released later in 2022 after further consultation to account for the changing landscape and fully explore the more complex challenges.

Quotes from the hospitality industry

“No one company can shape the future of responsible travel alone. It requires teamwork and a collective effort across the industry to achieve a common goal. The Pathway will help create tangible change locally and internationally at scale, supporting every hotel globally, no matter their starting point. Alongside our own clear sustainability plans and programs, IHG looks forward to working with the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance to ensure the Pathway plays its part in helping write a more sustainable future for us all.” Keith Barr, CEO, IHG Hotels and Resorts

"Today is our industry's carpe diem moment! Collectively, we need to act to end the Planet damage we've been causing, both environmentally and socially. That is why it is important to combine policy-drafting and rule implementation with the support and motivation of our teams globally to act on their ideas NOW. The reference we make as Kerten Hospitality to the ‘’butterfly effect’’ whereby the softest flutter of a wing can affect the molecules around it, setting off a chain reaction that amplifies into major change that has lasting impacts on the surrounding environment." Marloes Knippenberg, CEO, Kerten Hospitality

“Climate change calls for collaboration, not competition. We believe that working with our peers and partners from the hospitality sector is the most effective way to make substantial change happen. The pathway is an important step in that journey.” Brune Poirson, Chief Sustainability Officer, Accor

We have only one chance with planet earth. Deutsche Hospitality with its approximately 11,000 employees is aware of this responsibility. Participation in the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance’s “Pathway for net positive Hospitality“ therefore is a matter close to our hearts. Let’s seize the opportunity to make a big difference together.” Marcus Bernhardt, CEO, Deutsche Hospitality/Steigenberger Hotels AG

“We are proud to be part of the creation of the pathway for net positive hospitality – underscoring our industry’s commitment to protect the environment and limit the effects of climate change on our planet. Led by the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, this collaboration will allow the hospitality industry to have a much greater impact collectively than we can individually. We encourage others in the industry to join us on this pathway, to help our communities remain vibrant places to live, work and visit, and create a better, more sustainable future for all.” Anthony Capuano, CEO, Marriott International

“The Pathway to Net Positive Hospitality provides an excellent framework for the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance’s planet work going forward. The hotel industry needs to come together to define a clear and common framework for basic hotel sustainability, in all transparency to the traveler and suitable for hotels just getting started on the journey.” Federico J González, President & CEO Radisson Hotel Group

“Soneva is proud to support the development of the Pathway for Net Positive Hospitality – an industry collaboration led by the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance. As an industry, it is paramount that we work towards a net positive future and at Soneva we continue to pioneer a more sustainable solution. Our resorts have been carbon neutral since 2012, including indirect emissions such as guest air travel. We aim for half of our power supply to come from renewables by 2023 and to eliminate fossil fuels from our operations, including our own boats and planes, by 2030.” Sonu Shivdasani, CEO, and Co-founder, Soneva

“We have a collective responsibility to collaborate as an industry and move quickly to reduce our environmental impact. We have a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the world and through active participation in organizations like the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance we can make great progress together to help ensure the future remains bright.” Geoffrey A. Ballotti, President and Chief Executive Officer, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts

Commenting on the partnership, Hemant Mediratta, Founder – One Rep Global said, ‘We are delighted to be representing Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) in India and are looking forward to working closely with the tourism authority to position Ras Al Khaimah as an attractive leisure destination for Indian travelers. The emirate has something to offer for travelers of all age groups and is also an attractive choice for the large-scale‘ big fat’ destination weddings from India. MICE is another crucial segment that we will target for Ras Al Khaimah from India.”

The UAE's northernmost Emirate offers a wealth of diversions between its miles of white sandy beaches and turquoise sea, majestic Hajar Mountains, and magnificent desert sand dunes. Named the Gulf Tourism Capital in 2020 and 2021, much of Ras Al Khaimah’s popularity comes from the increasing ease of accessibility. Located a few short hours by flight from India, the emirate is just a 45-minute drive from Dubai International Airport. Ras Al Khaimah has also reinforced confidence in the destination being certified as the first safe city worldwide by Bureau Veritas SafeGuard Label and the Safe Travels Stamp from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Initiative | Alila Diwa Goa installs a water bottling plant in partner with Boon

The “Zero Mile Water” program is an automated in-house system wash, sterilizes, and fills glass bottles to eliminate carbon emissions.

Alila Diwa Goa, a lifestyle Hyatt Resort in South Goa is proud to be the first hotel in Goa to install an automated sustainable drinking water bottling plant at its property, in partnership with Boon (Formerly known as Swajal WaterCube).

The hotel supports sustainable tourism and reduced carbon footprint by using biodegradable materials. It also takes care in minimizing its environmental impact by using primarily local materials.

In the “Zero Mile Water” program, an automated in-house system wash sterilizes and fills glass bottles to eliminate the carbon emission involved in transporting the bottles to the hotel from a plant. It also eliminates the use of new plastic bottles in the property.

Boon’s proprietary Clairvoyant IoT platform monitors the quality of each drop of drinking water. Guests can scan a unique QR code to get insights into the drinking water quality and impact in real-time.

“Goa is a unique place in India, and sustainable tourism is the only way forward to improve the area’s tourism based economy while preserving nature that makes the destination such a unique place. Single use plastics can damage beaches and the beauty of nature. Replacing single use plastic bottles with glass bottles is a small step in that direction, but it is a giant leap in thinking about our environment,” said Dr. Vibha Tripathi, CEO of Boon.

12th India International Hotel Travel & Tourism Research Conference March 3rd – 5th 2022

Vaccine Certifications and Rethinking Tourism will Re-Energize Hospitality Sector

Today, on the second day of our International Conference (IIHTTRC) organized by Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, the keynote address was delivered by Dr. Kevser Çınar, Necmettin Erbakan University, Turkey.

She spoke on the subject of “Vaccine Certificate and Hotel Manager’s Views: The Case of Konya.” She spoke at length about vaccine certification in the post-pandemic times and the positive and negative aspects surrounding Covid 19 vaccine certificate for travel, visa, and passport. She was worried about more than seventy percent of the world’s job sector was affected by Covid, especially from the tourism and the hospitality sector.

Her research centered on different COVID CERTIFICATIONS like COWIN, DIGITAL HEALTH PASS, IATA TRAVEL PASS AND VACCINATION CREDENTIAL INITIATIVE. She explained how these certificates have become mandatory the world over. The significance of these certifications are more relevant today as government and organizations are ensuring security to the hotels and travelers by making it mandatory for all.

She concluded by suggesting that it is important to safeguard personal and health data, establish legal guidelines, and engage/consult with different communities to be credible, thereby ensuring transparency.

Our Second International Keynote Speaker, Dr. L.ucilia Cardoso, Researcher of CITUR - Centre for Tourism Research, Development and Innovation, Portugal, deliberated on the much relevant topic of "'Re-think and Re-build Tourism and Hospitality through Neuro-tourism Research"

She began her keynote by the concept of rethinking of tourism. This concept has been around since 2017 for sustainable and socially inclusive growth. She emphasized that in 2021, the UN Chief said “This is the time to rethink, transform and safely restart tourism.”

Her research paper proposed an idea for neuroscience and tourism to work together by understanding people’s decision-making processes. She mentioned the Butterfly Effect, which influences people’s theoretical mind and perception from the surroundings and typically affects the ideal image of a travel destination.

Dr. Cardoso stressed on the factor of implementing the vision of an ideal tourist destination into the minds of the tourists and the locals. According to her, the travel cycle can be divided into four stages being: Need Stage, Motivation Stage, Action Stage, and the Satisfaction Need Stage. Neuroscience can be applied from the first stage which can then be followed to the end.

In her research, she has concluded that the image of the ideal destination lasts for about 7 seconds in our minds. This takes place through many factors from our surroundings and can affect the memory or image which then turns into long-term memory and generates a need for a travel destination.

In her view, neuro-marketing can be applied to tourism and used to stimulate cognitive load and visual attention to generate motivation and arousal towards the destination. The tourism sector and its understanding is in the need of a new discipline and Neuro Tourism is one of those disciplines that can enhance the tourism sector

12th India International Hotel Travel & Tourism Research Conference March 3rd – 5th 2022

12th India International Hotel Travel & Tourism Research Conference March 3rd – 5th 2022

India International Hotel Travel and Tourism Research Conference, organized by Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology from 3rd to 5th March 2022 was seen as the first-ever time to be conducted in a Virtual mode in lieu of the pandemic and global crisis. However, the crisis didn’t halt or seize the opportunity for researchers and speakers across the globe to gather in a virtual teams room to present their works and delegations in this year’s theme of IIHTTRC: Renaissance 2.0: Re-think, Re-build & Re-coup" which aimed at absorbing the best practices adopted by the active players in the hospitality & tourism sector around the world. The conference provided a distinctive opportunity to converse and share the knowledge with the experts and focus on revised strategies in the tourism and hospitality field with a global perspective.

Commencing with the mega event, Mr. Sidharth, faculty, BCIHMCT greeted and welcomed everyone to this special event where all the researchers with their industrial experience and intellectual minds were to present their ideas and views on this year’s theme, taking in mind the pandemic effects on the tourism and hospitality sector. It was followed by the auspicious blessings from Lord Ganesha through the  Ganesh Vandhana performance enacted by Nivedita, student, BCIHMCT.

Dr. Arvind Saraswati then shared with the audience this year's theme ‘Renaissance 2.0: Re-think, Re-build & Re-coup’ in order to suffice the excitement and wait amongst the researchers/speakers. He elaborated that the theme was based on the idea of The Renaissance, referring to a ‘fervent period of European cultural, artistic, political and economic “rebirth” following the Middle Ages, from 14th century to 17th century. Furthermore, he elaborated that how it promoted the rediscovery and recovery of classical philosophy, literature, and art to the present day. Relating to this, it was just like in the case of hospitality as seen during and after the Corona Virus Pandemic, and that it the stage for recovery and rebirth for this industry.

Mr. R.K Bhandari, Principal, BCIHMCT then warmly welcomed the gathering including all the special addresses’ speakers and keynote speakers. And to extend to the purpose of the IIHTTRC 2022 Conference, he enlivened the atmosphere by justifying the purpose which was to provide education to the young students in this industry, to develop them into responsible hospitality personnel with quality expertise and indicating that this conference is a way of connecting them to the experts in the hospitality sector that will broaden their knowledge and competences. Professionals, academicians and researchers from various countries were invited to share  their unique idea and research on this  timely, crucial and challenging issue, the hospitality and tourism sector is facing after the covid recession.

Dr. Swarup Sinha, Principal, ITC Hospitality Management Institute at ITC LIMITED,

Hotels Division in his special address shared his experience and learning and believed that these two processes can happen every second and every minute of life, quoting  ‘There are decades when nothing happened and weeks where decade passed’. He injected the audience with the lesson that one can learn with experience and even while working which is more fruitful than reading books. Continuing with his motivational stories, he expressed that learning  is ‘When as a leader you are  the one to take the blame whenever failure happens, and whenever success occurs, you reward the right person who helped you.’ He took the recent lockdown for an example that it has opened the window to lots of innovation and ideas which will definitely benefit to decades to come. He emphasized on this scenario that currently, sanitation and hygiene protocol has become the top priority in the hospitality industry and all hotels are showing commitment towards health and hygiene amongst employees and to all the guests. This is the benefit that pandemic has brought us, he believes.

Coming to possessing the skills of a hotelier, he shed light on the subject of presentation and its importance such as to : Be Spontaneous, Know your Subject very well, Capacity to hold your audience for at least 20 minutes, Learn to deliver without presentation, Engage the audience, If you want to engage the people then you need to know a lot, reading is knowledge and a leader is a reader.

And coming back to the subject of crisis and dealing with it, he exclaimed on the question thar what the previous disaster has taught us is that these things will happen from now and then  whether it is a tsunami, 26/11 or COVID, He believed that there are 3 stages we should focus on: Survive, revive and thrive! We have to learn to co-exist with these situations. As a youngster, you need to have knowledge but more importantly, a  well-formed mind that can use that knowledge for actual benefits. Just as the real skill of the pilot is tested at the turbulence in the same way your real skill is tested in the time of pressure and crisis like this pandemic.

Prof. Shunsaku Hashimoto, Full Professor and Associate Dean, Faculty of Global and

Regional Studies, University of the Ryukyus, Japan, in his Keynote Speech,  presented the  ‘features of a hotel that still continues to grow even alongside with covid 19’ Through his presentation, he took the audience to the subject of Japan and its crisis. He elaborated that because of pandemic, the foreign tourists in Japan decreased by 87.1% and the domestic trips decreased by 48.4%. The room occupancy rates are now at a 34.6% decrease and even more than  40%  on average. Moving on, he elaborated that despite the recession in the hotel industry across various parts of Japan and all over the world, there still remains one hotel that continued to grow in this crisis, which is the  Hoshino Resorts. By presenting his fine example on the same, he further explained that on April and May 2020, Hoshino resorts’ occupancy rates plummeted to less than 30% across the board. However, in the coming July 2020 the occupancy rates of major hotels in Hoshino resorts returned to over 80% and went as high as 90% until the state of emergency was reissued in the third wave of Covid 19.

Coming to the question cum solution that how were they able to have such high occupancy even in the pandemic, he presented 3 features: Excellence in employees, placement of devices to raise the satisfaction level of experimental consumption means if the guest comes to Nasu so as to enjoy and experience Nasu culture, inferring to hotels having to place management devices that make the stay enjoyable and makes guests feel that way. And finally, promoting of micro tourism through media. Micro tourism is the locals’  trip to their hometowns. Above all, the biggest feature considered by Dr. Hashimoto is human resources.  Going by the concept of micro tourism and raising guest satisfaction, the whole responsibility falls to the employees. The employee is the one who interacts with the guest; they have to produce the content of their area which can increase the experience of the guests. This cultural concept is based on ‘Treating employees as customers.  Its a core Internal marketing concept introduced by Berry and Parasuraman (1991). The same can be achieved by : Career support, Mental support and a Dialogue environment. The reform is to empower positivity in employees and motivate them by having them act on their own discretion. The concept of ‘Treating employees as customers’ has been deeply penetrated in the organization of Hoshino Resorts which he believes to be the reason for their high room occupancy rate even in the post-pandemic era.

BCIHMCT hosting its 12th India International Hotel, Travel and Tourism Research Conference

Training and Skilling Employees – the only way to win customer loyalty

“Human Resource Department has a tough task at hand. The post-pandemic era needs a lot of trained, skilled and motivated employees to bring back the loyalty of customers for the hospitality sector.” In the 12th India International Hotel, Travel & Tourism Research Conference, which is currently being organized, from March 03, 2022 to March 05, 2022 by Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, many such issues were raised and discussed by the academic fraternity.

The theme for this year is "Renaissance 2.0: Re-think, Re-build & Re-coup" which is aimed at absorbing the best practices adopted by the active players in the hospitality & tourism sector around the world. The HR department should develop managers who have to be great at time management, context switching, and problem solving.

Through methodical and modern methods of training, a manager can handle various situations like unhappy guests, analyzing guest needs and of course emergency scenarios like last minute changes at a function or banquet operations.

HR should strategize their policy in such a manner so as to improve operations in all departments, allowing the team to be more efficient and even assess if they are happy at work. This will definitely bring back loyal customers and help the revenues to soar as high as possible.

During the Conference, researchers discussed and deliberated on pertinent issues related to the HR department of a hotel and how to revive and thrive guest experiences by training and skilling employees. The conference also shed the light on enhancing knowledge of creating and managing demand, and maximizing returns in the near future for all future managers. After all, “A hotel is only as good as its employees.”

The major part of our IIHTTRC conference also focused on implementing programs to properly train employees that help close the skills gap, which also continues to be one of the biggest HR challenges in the hospitality industry.

In addition all the factors discussed so far, HR Managers in the hospitality sector often face challenges related to the motivation of their employees. Most jobs in this sector are highly stressful needing constant vigilance and attention on the employees and hence, there is a high burnout rate in the sector. To avoid high attrition due to stress and demoralized employees due to fatigue, HR Managers in the sector must come up with innovative and inventive policies to ensure that employees remain motivated.

That’s why there is a need of skilled employees, who provide exceptional customer service at all times. An Effective HR team can revive the morale of the employees and thus make the customers happy and loyal, by training and skilling all manpower of the hotel sector.

HR professionals at hospitality companies also face a unique set of challenges that they have to tackle daily. Hence, there is a need to keep the spirits of the employees high and towards this cause. HR Managers can ensure that they align the rewards with the performance in a manner that brings out the best in each of their employees.

Through this theme, an effort is being made in the conference to include constructive deliberations on the aforesaid issues prevailing worldwide in HR due to the current pandemic situation and to address, discuss and devise future strategies for “Managing Hotel Operations and Human Resource Issue”.
