The Westin Pune Koregaon Park appoints Uday Thakur as the new Executive Housekeeper
/Pune, September 2022: The Westin Pune Koregaon Park is pleased to appoint Uday Thakur as their new Executive Housekeeper. Uday in his role will be seen controlling the expense areas of the five-star property that fall within the housekeeping department's area of responsibility. His tasks primarily will include coordinating between housekeeping crews to inspect assigned areas to ensure standards are met.
Having completed 20 years of expertise in the housekeeping department at the start of the year, Uday’s early career started at The Imperial, New Delhi as a Housekeeping Associate & Trainee. The following years saw him working for different hotels like Hyatt Hotels Corporation, the Emirates Palace Abu Dhabi, Kempinski Hotel, and the Grand Hyatt, as the Team Leader of Housekeeping, Senior Supervisor Housekeeping, and Asst. Manager Housekeeping, respectively.
In 2013, Uday went on to work for Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts as a full-time Assistant Executive Housekeeper and has only moved forward from there. Later on, he worked for Rotana Hotel Management Corporation PJSC, Marriott Hotels, and Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts as an Executive Housekeeper.
Uday as an Executive housekeeper for The Westin Pune Koregaon Park will also be seen managing many priorities and demands while solving problems, supporting the staff, as well as performing the duties of a housekeeper when required. He will be responsible for all functions such as operations & admin for housekeeping, interviewing, hiring, orientation, performance appraisals, and dismissals in coordination with the Personnel Department to ensure appropriate staffing and productivity.
Commenting on his appointment, Uday Thakur, Executive Housekeeper, The Westin Pune Koregaon Park, said, “I am really glad to be a part of The Westin family, and I really hope to take the hotel to newer and better heights with utmost contribution from my end. Pune, June 2022: The Westin Pune Koregaon Park welcomes Devendra Modak as their New Director of Engineering. Devendra, based in Pune, in his role, will be directly responsible to lead the engineering department at The Westin Pune – from hiring and training new team members to managing tech projects and preparing the budget of the team.
With nearly 32 years of expertise in the engineering space, Devendra’s early career started in 1990 as a Central Mechanic for the Ramada Inn Palm Grove. The next year he went on to work for the Welcomgroup Sea Rock Sheraton as the Technician IV and in 1994, work as a Skilled Staff Grade II for Glaxo India Ltd. In October 2001, Devendra got his first big chance as the Engg. Manager for J.W. Marriott Hotel, Juhu, Mumbai, and since then he’s never looked back.
Devendra is a hands-on hotel engineer who is proficient in handling people and products effectively in each and every situation and sector of engineering operations through his immense experience and leadership skills. His past job roles have also seen him work for Sterling Holiday Resorts Limited as Regional Head Engineering, Chief Engineer/DGM Services for Phoenix Market city Mumbai, Director of Engineering for 3 properties including J W Marriott Hotels Mumbai, Hyderabad Marriott Hotel & Convention Centre, and Courtyard by Marriott Hyderabad, and lastly, Chief Engineer at Courtyard by Marriott Pune.

He will shoulder the responsibility of managing all marketing and PR activities, elevating and sustaining the Hotel’s brand positioning, driving engagement and additional revenue through invigorating Marketing and PR Campaigns.
Gole has over six years of experience in hospitality sales and marketing and communications. Before joining The Westin Pune Koregaon Park, he was responsible for Marketing and Communications for Courtyard by Marriott Raipur and Courtyard by Marriott, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh.
Gole holds a Master’s in Business Administration in Marketing, from Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), and a BA (Hons) Hotel Management, from IHM-A, Aurangabad, University of Huddersfield, UK.
