Accor India & South Asia has announced the appointment of Reema Diwan as Director Design and Technical Services, effective from 10 March 2021.

With an extensive background in Hospitality design and a futuristic technical expertise, Diwan will lead the planning, design and construction of projects under Accor and will be responsible for designing high-impact guest experiences.

Diwan has played an important role in crafting immersive experiences for customers and guests alike by reimagining brand landscape for some award-winning hotel projects in the past.  She is a strategic thinker and passionate about storytelling, and design narratives while having the ability to motivate and work within teams. Her forte is putting together an integrated, 360-degree approach to hospitality and the ability to craft high impact design led hotels that leave an everlasting guest experience.

The company continues to solidify its mainstream portfolio in the region in line with market demands 

one of the world’s leading hotel companies has signed a management agreement with Swornim Hotel Pokhara Private Limited to develop a new Holiday Inn Express hotel - Holiday Inn Express Pokhra Lakeside, in Nepal. The new-build hotel will feature110 keys and will be operational by the first quarter of 2025. IHG currently has four hotels under development across the Holiday Inn brand family in Nepal and this latest signing will further strengthen the company’s mainstream portfolio in the tourism capital of the country. 

Strategically located close to the city’s main tourist hub, ‘Lakeside’ and with proximity to commercial establishments, the hotel will be an ideal destination for both leisure and corporate travelers. Additionally, Holiday Inn Express Pokhara Lakeside will be at a convenient distance of 6 km from the upcoming International Airport of Pokhara and 2.5 km distance from the domestic airport. Adding to the stay experience, the hotel will be situated in close proximity to multiple dining and shopping options and will also provide easy access to adventure sports and other tourist attractions.

Holiday Inn Express Pokhara Lakeside will feature well-designed, fully equipped guest rooms with higher floors offering a scenic view of the lake and Annapurna mountain range. He comes with a broad spectrum of knowledge and an experience of over a decade in the hospitality industry, where he has worked in both the Indian and International markets.

Kumar has been an integral part of the pre-opening team at Hyatt Regency Dharamshala Resort since November 2018 as the Front Office Manager.

In his new role, Kumar will be responsible for the overall functioning of the rooms, front office operations, and will also spearhead various functions such as Guest Services and in-house reservations team.

The FHRAI Institute of Hospitality Management (FHRAI-IHM) has appointed Arun Kumar Singh as its Director effective March 2021.

An illustrious career spanning over three and half decades in Hospitality Management, Singh brings to FHRAI-IHM his expertise in Institutional and academic administration. He will aid FHRAI-IHM’s Research and Development and be a value-add to the institute’s faculty.

Prior to joining FHRAI-IHM, Singh served as the Principal of IHMCTAN Mumbai, the Principal of Institute of Hotel Management of Lucknow and the State Institute of Hotel Management, Jodhpur.

In his last stint, he played a pivotal role in obtaining a grant of 11 crores from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India for upgrading the training facility at IHMCTAN Mumbai. In the recent past, he assisted the Maharashtra Government in setting-up the State’s Institute of Hotel Management in Solapur.

“My tenure of twenty-four years in various Hospitality Management institutes has enriched my knowledge in the field. Over the years I gained exposure to infrastructure creation and development, student empowerment and up-gradation of knowledge and skill. DoubleTree by Hilton has announced the appointment of Vinay Nair as their new General Manager. Nair is a well-rounded hotelier veteran with more than two decades of extensive hospitality experience.

In his new role as the General Manager, Vinay will be responsible for curating strategic initiatives to ensure the highest levels of guest engagement, profitability and continue to build on the positioning and the reputation of DoubleTree by Hilton Pune - Chinchwad. Nair hails from an army background and has keen interests in travelling, cars, and gadgets.

He has been a part of global brands such as Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Accor, Taj Hotels, Resorts & Palaces, Guoman & Thistle Hotels, Menzies Hotels etc.

Passionate about talent development, he has mentored many industry leaders in his tenure, and in the year 2014, he has received the award for Best Professional in Hospitality by PATWA, which is a testament to his passion for hospitality.

Fairmont Jaipur has announced the appointment of Indu Khatri as Deputy Director – Sales and Marketing. With this, Khatri returns to the palace property after a break of one year.

Prior to this stint at Fairmont Jaipur, Khatri has worked with DoubleTree by Hilton, Amer, in the same neighborhood and was responsible for all sales, marketing and distribution related tasks in the hotel’s opening, as Commercial Head.

Her previous stint at Fairmont Jaipur saw her evolution from Associate Director of Sales to Director of Sales.

A seasoned hotelier, Marriya holds great expertise across all departments and his leadership skills have time and again proved to be an asset. His association with leading hotel chains from around the country has seen him perform and achieve business objectives, thus establishing the respective hotels dominance in the industry.

With his agile thought process and proactive strategic planning, his primary objective will be to enhance the overall commercial performance of the hotel by growing market share and positioning the property as the market leader.

Marriya most recently served as Cluster Director of Sales & Marketing at Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield Hotel & Convention Center and Aloft Bengaluru Cessna Business Park. In 2017-18, he led the successful opening of the 100th Marriott hotel in India. Prior to which, he was associated with The Westin Hyderabad Mindspace, Sheraton Hyderabad Hotel and Sheraton Grand Bengaluru at Brigade Gateway.

Marriya began his journey with The Leela Hotels & Resorts, where he held multiple positions in the Food & Beverage department. He subsequently gained experience, while delivering outstanding performance, at Taj Hotels and IHHR Hospitality, in F&B leadership.

Marriya is a graduate in Science from St. Joseph’s College Bangalore and alumnus of IHM Bangalore. On joining as Hotel Manager of Le Meridien Hyderabad, he said, “I am very excited to be a part of this wonderful team. I feel honored and will do my best to add value to Le Meridien Hyderabad, the newly built and managed hotel, in the buzzing business corridor of Gachibowli Hyderabad.

Having successfully led two of IHCL Delhi NCR hotels, Kanika Hasrat, General Manager – Taj City Centre Gurugram is being promoted as Area Director – Uttar Pradesh, MP & Uttarakhand at IHCL and General Manager – Taj Bhopal.

Kanika Hasrat will now lead Taj Bhopal and also be responsible for 5 hotels in UP (Taj Mahal, Lucknow, Tajview, Agra, Taj Hotel & Convention Center, Agra, Taj Ganges, Varanasi, and Taj Nadesar Palace, Varanasi), 2 in MP (Taj Usha Kiran Palace, Gwalior, and Taj Bhopal) and 3 hotels in Uttarakhand (Taj Rishikesh Resort & Spa, Uttarakhand, Taj Corbett Resort & Spa, Uttarakhand and the new hotel opening in Haridwar).

In her new role, she will report to the Executive Vice President – Operations, North & West India, IHCL.
