KCK Chennai opened its doors for lunch on Friday, July 9 and service will be open till 8pm, so dinner service will begin at 6pm, Regi Mathew told us.

New Opening | IHCL Signs A Vivanta Hotel In Ahmedabad

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), South Asia’s largest hospitality company, today announced the signing of a Vivanta hotel in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. This is a management contract for an existing hotel in the city, which would be undergoing extensive renovations before being flagged as Vivanta.

Commenting on the signing, Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL, said, “This signing is in line with IHCL’s strategy of strengthening our domestic presence in key cities. Ahmedabad is a thriving economic and industrial hub. The company will now have three of its brands – Taj, Vivanta and Ginger present in the city. Vivanta Ahmedabad, a 176-room hotel is strategically located on SG Highway, a comfortable driving distance from Gandhinagar, the state capital as well as important business complexes. The recreational facilities will be a pool, fitness center and spa, meeting rooms and a banquet hall for social and business gatherings. Meliá Chiang Mai is slated to open its doors for business in the fourth quarter of 2021.

Meliá Chiang Mai, a 260-key urban hotel that towers over the River Ping and bustling Night Bazaar in the heart of Chiang Mai city in Thailand’s mountainous north, is slated to open its doors for business in the fourth quarter of 2021.

Owned by Thailand’s leading integrated lifestyle real estate group Asset World Corporation (AWC) and launched by Meliá Hotels International, the five-star hotel is part of the Meliá brand’s roll-out plan in key destinations across Thailand. Meliá Koh Samui debuted in January 2020 with a nautical theme underscored by boat suites made from refurbished merchant vessels. INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit, the first property of its brand in Thailand, housing 176 guestrooms and located close to the Suvarnabhumi Airport, is due to open in 2022.

At 2,000 feet, Shanghai opens world's highest hotel

A restaurant on the 120th floor, yes you read that right, Shanghai has opened the world’s highest luxury restaurant, situated on the 120th floor of a skyscraper.

Apart from the height, this eatery named ‘J Hotel’ boasts of 24-hours personal butler service and is now open for the deep-pocketed guests in China.   

The restaurant is located in the city’s financial capital, at the top of 632-meter (around 2,000 feet) long Shanghai Tower, which is the world’s second-tallest building after Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

Guests are whizzed up in the blink of an eye. Elevators running at the speed of 18 meters per second take them up the intimidating skyscraper, to the J Hotel.

Although the hotel’s opening was delayed by the pandemic, it has now started receiving guests, calling on the services of a dedicated butler at all times of day and night.

Luxury Fairmont hotel to open in Saudi’s Al Khobar

A five-star Fairmont hotel is opening in Saudi Arabia’s city of Al Khobar. The new Fairmont Ajdan Al Khobar will be part of the Ajdan Waterfront development. Accor’s CEO India, Middle East, Africa and Turkey Mark Willis describes it as the “ultimate destination.”

He said: “We believe the new Fairmont Ajdan Al Khobar will become the ultimate premier urban waterfront development in the Eastern Province, and maybe even the whole of Saudi Arabia, adding to the strong momentum the Fairmont brand is seeing in the Kingdom after the successful opening of Fairmont Riyadh.”
