They also discussed the challenges of running an operational hotel and opening a new hotel, as well as strategies for keeping both guests and employees happy. They talked about determining rules to advance an industry, the challenges in management, which solutions we should be aware of in any situation, and the need for leadership quality to become a hotel manager. They advised students and told them that Communication skills and attitude are crucial elements for a successful manager.

 The students were enthusiastic and energetic throughout the session and they asked various questions and queries related to personal and professional life and the secret behind the success and management styles to which all the General Managers were humble to address the gathering.

The event was moderated by Dr. Bhupesh Kumar, Principal, IHM Ranchi though a series of innovative and detailed questions to set the momentum of the session. Extension for Public Feedback on Draft Goa Tourism Management Bill

Deadline for Public View and Suggestions Extended by 15 Days

Panjim, July  - The draft of the Goa Tourism Promotion and Management Bill, 2024, is open for public objections and suggestions. Hon'ble Tourism Minister Shri.Rohan A. Khaunte and MLA announced today that the deadline, initially set for July 6, has been extended by 15 days.

Shri. Khaunte stated that the bill aims to give a new dimension to tourism in the state and to take action against illegal activities. He expressed confidence that the bill would also be beneficial for job creation and boosting the economy.

He emphasized that the bill would strengthen the tourism industry in the state. He mentioned that the bill was introduced after taking into confidence all stakeholders. In the next 10 days, presentations will be made to ministers, legislators and all stakeholders of the industry to provide clarity on the bill.

In the competitive tourism era, it is essential for Goans to sustain their businesses. This bill will be beneficial for that purpose. He mentioned that 27 different committees have been appointed for the development of tourism clusters, and revenue will be allocated accordingly.

He informed that the bill was prepared through a study by the concerned agency over the past year and a half.

Tourism has transformed over the past 40-45 years. In such times, changes in the old laws become necessary. This bill was prepared after consultations with TTAG, stakeholders, police, other departments and experts over 33 meetings. Since the draft of the bill is open for suggestions, everyone’s cooperation is essential. Another 15 days extension has been given for more suggestions and useful inputs from the public.

The claim that a 2% sustainability fees will be levied is baseless; it is a tax of up to 2%, and it will be limited only to the relevant clusters once they are created. Therefore, making a issue about it is unnecessary, Khaunte alleged. He stated that the bill would help prevent revenue leakage in the department.

Shri.Khaunte also appealed that the government is working for the benefit of Goa and Goans, and it would be more appropriate for everyone to work constructively.

MICHELIN Guide Dubai 2024 Underpins Emirate’s Status As Culinary Hotspot

National, July 2024: MICHELIN revealed the third edition of its annual MICHELIN Guide Dubai during a prestigious ceremony last night at the recently opened One&Only One Za’abeel. Among the highlights was Row on 45 becoming the fourth restaurant in Dubai to receive two MICHELIN Stars.

This year’s prestigious MICHELIN Guide Dubai includes a total of 106 restaurants, representing a 53.6% jump since the Guide’s inception in 2022 when it listed 69 restaurants. Decided upon by MICHELIN’s famously anonymous inspectors, the increase in restaurants in this year’s edition, also up on the 90 included in 2023, is testament to Dubai’s expanding and increasingly diverse gastronomy scene.

The 2024 edition recognises four two MICHELIN Stars restaurants, and 15 one MICHELIN Star restaurants, four of which are newly awarded. Dubai is now also home to 18 Bib Gourmand restaurants and three with a MICHELIN Green Star. (See full list of restaurants below.)

Indian cuisine continues to carve a niche with its innovative concept-dining restaurants taking 11 places in the Michelin Guide Dubai. Building on the success of previous venues featured and awarded Stars and other recognition, Indian tapas bar Revelry joins the list, with inclusion in the Bib Gourmand category. Trèsind Studio (chef Himanshu Saini) and avatāra (chef Rahul Rana) maintain their presence in the Guide, with two Stars and one Star respectively, while Indya by Vineet (chef Vineet Bhatia) continues to be a Bib Gourmand restaurant. Conceptualised around the different seasons of India, taking the country’s agricultural heritage and culinary traditions into account, Revelry is an offering by Passion F&B, which is also the team behind Trèsind Studio and avatāra, continuing the company’s impressive run in the Michelin Guide Dubai.

Some 35 different types of cuisine are represented across the 106 restaurants, with the selection underpinning Dubai’s burgeoning culinary scene, as well as its commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences across the city.

This year, between January and May, a total of 8.12 million visitors stayed in Dubai, up 10% on the same period in 2023.

Rosetta Hospitality Launches Elements by Rosetta- Varca, Goa

Rosetta Hospitality announces the launch of Elements by Rosetta-Varca, its newest venture in South Goa.   • Holiday Inn Braga - Owned by Soliteight Hotel Projects SA, the 114-room hotel will be the first IHG property in their portfolio and one of the few branded hotels in the city. The hotel will attract both corporate and leisure guests when it opens in the second half of 2024.

  • Holiday Inn Beja – Also owned by Mercan Properties, Holiday Inn Beja will be a short walking distance to the city centre and ideally situated on the main highway system connecting Lisbon with Sevilla and Huelva in Spain. The 95-room hotel located inside the renowned medieval walls of Beja Castle is set to open in the second half of 2024.   • Kimpton Lisbon – Signed earlier this month, the 141-room Kimpton Lisbon will be the first Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants-branded property in Lisbon and the eighth property in partnership with Real Hotels Group. Set to open in early 2026, the hotel will feature unique, design-forward spaces from inspiring high-quality finishes to seasonally-inspired restaurants and bars. To promote the new Chicken Surprise burger, the brand has launched a 360-degree marketing campaign focused on announcing the launch of Chicken Surprise burger and Chicken Surprise Meal that will be under the umbrella of McDeal@₹99/-. The campaign is targeted at GenZ emphasizing the brand’s role in making feel-good affordable chicken - that is generally perceived as expensive – available for everyone.

Leading the campaign is a TVC that narrates a light-hearted, insightful story showcasing how McDonald’s continues to be a preferred hangout destination for Gen Z, especially for the ones with shoestring budget. He soon gets relieved after noticing the Chicken Surprise Meal @ ₹99/- on the menu. Guests can check-in via the World of Hyatt app and head straight up to one of the hotel’s 167 rooms using a digital key. Inside, guests will discover a playful, thoughtfully designed 215–322-square-foot space curated with form, function, and fun top of mind.

The bold colors and locally inspired art running throughout the hotel creates an environment that is vibrant, unexpected, and has plenty of personality. Large picture windows frame views of the city’s most dynamic district, while hardware inspired by samurai swords, kikkō (tortoiseshell) and yagasuri (arrow feather) patterns, and graphic illustrations of Japanese kimonos, emakimono (handscrolls), and kinchaku (drawstring pouches) are subtle nods to traditional Japanese artwork. Above the beds, guests will encounter energetic murals by Osakan artist ZAnPon, inspired by Kuromon Market and its lively scene attracting customers. In the colorful, utilitarian-style bathrooms, clued-up guests will delight in the mural spelling out “nandeyanen”—an iconic Osakan retort meaning "What the heck?” or “You’re kidding.”
