Most recently, he served as Director of Operations (Task Force Re-brand) for Accor Resorts  and Hotels in Phuket, Thailand. In his new role at Vakkaru Maldives, Duff will oversee the overall operations and work closely  with all departments, including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa, and Recreation. Praveen has over 23+ years of rich experience in the hospitality industry, with diversified and multi-market background in global sales, pre-opening hotels, luxury hotels, palace hotels, and international exposure. Vishal has 24 years of international hospitality experience in four countries. He started his career as a Management Trainee with Marriott International and transitioned from Operations to Sales and from 2005-2012 in Maryland and Washington DC area with Marriott.

He was transferred to India in 2012, where he up the leisure division for Marriott’s National Sales Organization.

Vishal joined Hilton Worldwide as a General Manager in 2015 and worked at the Hilton Garden Inn Trivandrum and Hilton Jaipur until 2022. An entrepreneur at heart, Vishal took all his business and financial acumen, co-founded an Ed Tech platform in 2022, and ran it for 18 months.

Vishal believes in having a growth mind-set and is a constant learner. He completed a one year Advance General Management Program in 2020-21from IIM – Ahmedabad as well as he is a certified Executive Leadership coach from George Mason University, Virginia. He did his Bachelors of Business in Hotel Administration from the Hotel School, Southern Cross University, Australia and passed out from IHM Chandigarh in 1999.

Agra : The newly opened Fairfield by Marriott in Agra announced the appointment of Rakessh Barot as its first Hotel Manager. 

With over two decades of experience and strong leadership skills in the hospitality industry, Rakessh will be responsible for managing all aspects of the hotel including operations, guest services, team management, sales & marketing , revenue generation etc.

Rakessh has been associated with Marriott International for a very long time now having worked with Renaissance, Marriott Executive Apartments, Courtyard by Marriott and Fairfield Inn by Marriott. He rose to the level of Executive Housekeeper at Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel, Powai and was the Rooms Division Manager at Courtyard by Marriott Pune Chakan. His last role was the Operations Manager at the Courtyard by Marriott Chennai. 

His diverse experience and proven track record of success makes him the ideal choice for the role. He is a firm believer in teamwork and collaboration.
