JW Marriott Goa is delighted to announce the appointment of Neha Chhabra to lead the team as General Manager.  With over two decades of luxury hospitality experience behind her, Neha embodies the ‘Power of Women Leaders’.  She commenced her career with The Oberoi Group of Hotels and was soon a part of Marriott International’s leadership team.

Her phenomenal creativity and unwavering passion have been driving forces behind her remarkable achievements in effectively implementing strategic initiatives and attaining financial success.  Hailing from Kolkata, Neha comes from a self-made business family.  Neha spent her early years enjoying the eclectic culture of the city. Extremely academic and intellectual, Neha was all set to start her education in Economics.  She stumbled into the hospitality profession by pure chance.  Having been accepted for specialization in Economics, Neha joined the hotel management institute for a short stint.  She enjoyed her time so much that she chose this over a career as an economist, never to look back. 

This will be her third leadership role, having joined as Director of Operations at JW Marriott Sahar and moving on to her first assignment as General Manager with Courtyard Hebbel in Bangalore.  Neha essayed this role for two years, before moving back into the luxury hotel league with JW Marriott Goa.

Armed with a degree from the reputed Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Kolkata, and a post-graduation in Guest Service Management from the prestigious Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development, Neha’s career started with Food & Beverage with a pre-opening project at The Oberoi New Delhi. Over the next years, she honed her skills, which laid the foundation for her growth as a luxury hotelier.  With this background, her keen business acumen, and an overview of operations, she rose to become Executive Assistant Manager and moved further upwards to her current position.  

Neha truly embodies the core values of Marriott and has led her last hotel to be recognized at the 2022 GM APEC Summit for the Highest Internal/Alumni Hiring Award 2021 and Spirit to Serve our Communities Award 2021.  Most recently, she won the Diamond General Manager of the Year, Global 2022, for her hotel. She is a co-chair of the Marriott India Business Council and works cohesively with all stakeholders to get SERVE 360 in life and spirit at the properties.  Among her accolades, is a Gold Medal (Apeejay Surendra Paul) in college in 2002. 

At JW Marriott Goa Neha, will lead the dynamic leadership team to position the hotel in India’s most favored holiday destination.  She will focus on increasing employee engagement, driving guest voice scores and building relationships with key stakeholders while driving revenue and growing market share. 

A keen traveler and swimmer, Neha ensures both are penciled into her calendar. She loves her moments off with her family and enjoys this time with her little son, Veer, and hotelier husband, Manas. 

Agnibh Mudi has been named Corporate Chef at one8 Commune by True Palate Hospitality

Chef Agnibh Mudi, a seasoned, self-motivated culinary expert with outstanding skills both as a chef and a manager, has joined one8 Commune as the Corporate Chef.

Chef Agnibh takes over the reins from Chef Pawan Bisht, and will now be heading the kitchen management and kitchen operations of one8 Commune, pan-India, while spearheading the upcoming launches in Bengaluru, Gurugram, and other cities.

Having an unshakable faith in classical European techniques, Agnibh has always wanted to bring his own interpretations using various modes of cooking. Adept at handling all elements of a kitchen including costing, kitchen design, pre-opening logistics, quality assurance etc., he possesses the ability to develop and execute dynamic menus for fine dining and casual dining with global inspirations.

Keen to learn with a strong appetite for gaining the skills needed in commercial kitchens, Mudi has trained at IHM Kolkata, where he gained the passion of cooking and culinary arts from day one of kitchen practical classes.

Chef Mudi started his career under the guidance of Chef Sabyasachi Gorai at the renowned Olive Bar and Kitchen, Delhi. This became an opportunity to polish his culinary school skills to the practical experience of a working kitchen at an early age with one of the pioneers of European food in India.

From then on, he moved on to a supervisory role at Trés Restaurant, under the guidance of Chef Jatin Mallik and Chef Julia, where is got the opportunity to bring his own interpretations through varied techniques of cooking being enamored with ingredients sourced locally and ferried from abroad, heretofore unseen in the Indian culinary market.

Under the initiative of celebrated journalist and culinary critic, Sourish Bhattacharya, Chef Agnibh became a part of the Young Chef’s Association, giving him the opportunity of working with chefs nationwide. Mudi was one of the pioneers in promoting home produce and seasonal ingredients with the support of Tasting India and Original Indian Table.

He developed a multi-cuisine expertise at Monkey Bar, Delhi under the tutelage of Chef Manu Chandra. He used this experience to become the Executive chef in-charge of the kitchen at Perch wine and coffee bar, Delhi, turning it into one of the hottest properties in the city leading and managing the menu, backend operations having driven record sales and unmatched reviews in food and service. Followed by opening a fine dine restaurant Piso 16 at the 16th floor of Eros corporate towers, Nehru place. He also led the team as the Brand Chef for Foxtrot by Azure hospitality, handling multiple branches across the country – making multi-cuisine experience as one of the trends in the Indian Culinary market.

He developed a fresh perspective on youth-oriented dining experience at The Village Bistro, Goa along with Chef Gracian DeSouza, with locally sourced ingredients from the indigenous seafood and turning them into a menu that gave a remarkable fine dining experience. Chef Agnibh also became a part of The Goa culinary Club, which helped him know the vast culture of Goa and led to sharing his creativity with Chefs and Food Influencers in and around the city of Goa.

He takes inspiration from not only the amazing homegrown recipes and the traditional kitchens of India, but also international kitchen stalwarts like Chef Marco Pierre White, Chef Jock Zonfrillo, Chef Dan Barber, Chef Brian Howard, Chef Daniel Watkins, and many others.

As the Director of Operations, Mahiul will assume responsibility for overseeing the overall operations of the entire hotel and convention centre. His expertise in pre-openings, budget planning, GOR growth, banquet operations, learning and development, coupled with his meticulous attention to detail and pursuit of perfection, set him apart from his peers. Notably, he is also a certified 'The Leela Wine Leader,' highlighting his exceptional knowledge of F&B.

In his new role, Mahiul will manage and coordinate all departments, collaborating with the executive committee to develop revenue maximization strategies and enhance the property's operational capabilities. His primary objective will be to create seamless avenues for business growth and ensure the smooth functioning of the hotel. His focus would also be uplifting service delivery and creating memorable guest experiences.

Swiss hospitality expert Martin Wuethrich appointed General Manager of Hua Hin Marriott Resort and Spa

Hua Hin, Thailand, June 2023 – Mr. Martin Wuethrich has been appointed as the new General Manager of Hua Hin Marriott Resort & Spa, bringing almost 30 years of hospitality experience and expertise to Thailand’s gulf coast.

A Swiss national, Martin grew up in a hospitality family and spent his teenage years working in his parents’ restaurant. Having graduated from the Higher Hotel Management School in Switzerland, he went on to gain valuable experience at the Luxury Resort Ermitage Golf & Spa in Schoenried, Switzerland. Martin always had a passion for travel however, and he made the decision to move to Asia in 1996. Following his first role as F&B Manager with Novotel in Bangkok, he enjoyed his first taste of life in Hua Hin in 1998 when he was appointed Executive Assistant Manager of the Anantara resort.

Since this time, Martin’s career has grown from strength to strength. Returning to Bangkok in 2000, he was appointed Director of Food & Beverage at Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers, which marked the start of a 23-year spell with Starwood Hotels and Marriott International in four countries: Thailand, Vietnam, India and Malaysia.

Martin’s first posting as General Manager was at Sheraton Grand Bangalore at Brigade Gateway in 2010, the first managed Sheraton in India. During this role, he won several awards including “General Manager of Year India” by Hotelier India. In late 2013, he moved back to Bangkok to open Asia’s first Le Méridien golf resort, Le Méridien Suvarnabhumi Golf Resort & Spa, where he achieved a #1 ranking on Tripadvisor and was recognized with the multiple awards, including the Divisional Brand Ambassador award for Le Méridien in Asia Pacific. He was also elected to the GM Advisory Board for Le Méridien worldwide.

Martin now returns to Thailand as GM of Hua Hin Marriott Resort & Spa.
