Sanjeev Kumar

Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, an industry veteran, Sanjeev has spent nearly two decades in luxury hotels. He excels in managing business operations, growth strategies, and guest satisfaction. Sanjeev holds degrees in Hotel Management from the University of Huddersfield and the Institute of Hotel Management, Aurangabad. In his tenure, he will be responsible for looking after a luxury boutique property in the Kumaon Region, Uttarakhand.

 

Sanjay Wadhwa

Mr. Sanjay Wadhwa will take over the role of Cluster General Manager to further strengthen hotel operations with his experience in hospitality spanning three decades. Sanjay has been involved in development projects in Lonavala, Himachal Pradesh. He holds a PhD in Tourism with a specialization in E-Commerce.

Ritesh Bhatt

Mr. Ritesh Bhatt, with his professional career of over 20 years in general management and progressive experience, is handed over with the Cluster General Manager and Chief Experiences Officer profile. With a diverse experience of spearheading reputed brands such as Taj Properties. A wildlife enthusiast, Ritesh pursued a master's in hospitality management from the Govt. Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Dehradun. Vijendra Sharma

Mr. Vijendra Sharma, with a 34-year career at IHCL, is set to take on a crucial role in opening new hotels for Leisure Hotels Group. Mr. Sharma will oversee fostering a productive workforce with strategic HR policies and has excelled in talent acquisition and retention, ensuring a diverse and skilled workforce aligned with organizational goals. Trusted for his extensive experience, he has served as Area Director, Human Resources. He has been pivotal in opening new hotels, and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Labour Law, Industrial Relations and Personnel Management, and a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics

Effective from February 2024, Ahmed Asim is the new General Manager of Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan Villas, and Frederic Kolde assumes the role of General Manager of Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort from June 1st.

Ahmed Asim takes up his first General Manager posting after serving over a year as Resort Manager at Anantara Riverside Bangkok Hotel, where he was managing the operations of the 376-room resort and the F&B division with 10 outlets, banquet operations and dining boats.

Asim joined Minor Hotels in 2019 as Director of Rooms at Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort. He then got promoted to Hotel Manager for the first time at Avani+ Riverside Bangkok in 2021.

A passionate and hardworking professional, Asim started his career in hospitality in 2005 as a butler at Soneva Fushi in the Maldives and held various operational roles in the Maldives and Thailand.

A Maldivian national, Asim holds a BTEC National Diploma in Hotel Catering and Institutional Operations, Maldives College of Higher Education, Maldives.

Luxury expert Frederic Kolde joins Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort from Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel where he has held the position of Hotel Manager since 2023. His primary responsibilities included overseeing the eight award-winning restaurants and 354 guest rooms, banquet operations, and a luxury spa & IV drip bar. In his new role Frederic can fully play on his strengths to make personalisation and customisation central to the guest experience.

Frederic stepped into his first leadership role shortly after graduating from Swiss Hotel Management School (SHMS) as pre-opening Assistant Manager at the signature steakhouse at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. He would remain on the Hyatt Hotels leadership roster until 2016, relocating to Japan in 2012 to manage The Oak Door steakhouse at Grand Hyatt Tokyo, then returning to Grand Hyatt Hong Kong in 2014 as Assistant Director of Food & Beverage.

The next chapter brought Frederic first to Thailand, where he worked as Director of Food & Beverage at Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, and later to China. In his role as Executive Assistant Manager in charge of Food & Beverage at Hyatt Regency Beijing Wangjing, he honed his leadership skills during the challenging pandemic years.

A German, French, and Brazilian national, Frederic holds a Certificate in Hotel Revenue Management from eCornell University.

Don Crowe Joins Dream Golf as Senior VP, Operations

Former Bandon Dunes GM to Provide Guidance for Existing Resorts and New Properties

Chicago, IL (June 2024) – Dream Golf, a collection of golf resorts and new properties in development, today announced that longtime Bandon Dunes General Manager Don Crowe has been named Senior Vice President of Operations.  In his new position, Crowe will support operations at Bandon Dunes and Sand Valley resorts and establish operations teams, policies, and processes at Rodeo Dunes, under construction in Colorado, and additional properties currently being evaluated or developed.

“We can think of no one more capable or qualified than Don Crowe to create a consistent, guest-centered culture across the Dream Golf collection of resorts,” said Dream Golf Partner Chris Keiser. Chris and his brother Michael Keiser head Dream Golf, building on the ideas originated by their father, Mike Keiser, as he was developing Bandon Dunes.

Two veteran Bandon Dunes team members are now overseeing operations at the world-renowned resort on the South Coast of Oregon.  Jeff Simonds has been elevated to General Manager, and Ken Nice, former director of agronomy, is now the resort’s Managing Director.

INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit Welcomes Spanish Chef de Cuisine

BANGKOK (Jun 2024) – Thailand’s first INNSiDE by Meliá hotel has appointed Juan Ignacio García Racionero, who has honed his craft in some of Spain’s finest kitchens, as Spanish chef de cuisine.

The Madrid-born chef joins INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit, that debuted in July 2023 in Bangkok’s On Nut neighborhood, after working at one Michelin-starred Saddle as well as Diverxo, recognized in the top three ‘World’s 50 Best Restaurants’ in 2023, and acclaimed restaurants El Jardin De La Marquina and Montellen.

His decade-long experience as a chef includes stints at restaurants Puerta 57, Café Pino, Restaurante La Chans and Rios De Luz. He has also worked at hotels and in catering, including with Morlans Hotels and Globales Don Pedro in Mallorca, and Curcuma Catering and Events.

In his new role, Racionero has taken charge of INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit’s signature LUZ Bangkok Tapas Bar, on the hotel’s two uppermost floors, the 34th and 33rd floors, where every seat is an opportunity to embark on a culinary pilgrimage across Spain.

“Since I was on vacation in Thailand with my mother many years ago, I have not stopped thinking about one day working and living here in Bangkok as the culture is fascinating,” he said. “It’s an honor to share my passion for Spanish cuisine, an extraordinary cuisine, at LUZ by giving it a special, differentiating touch that comes from a very personal place.”

Sachin, an industry veteran with over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry will be responsible for the growth of 270 keys across both the properties, leveraging his extensive knowledge of the Novotel brand and his skills as an F&B Alchemist for Accor in India & South Asia.

 

In his new role, Sachin's focus will be to elevate both the Novotel properties through strategic initiatives in F&B, enhance training of staff across both the properties to ensure guests' experiences and other services are taken notches higher. He will also bring in his expertise of infusing local elements by collaborating with local communities and driving sustainable practices. Having worked with the Novotel brand twice before, he has a clear understanding of the brand goals, service standards and identity. His extensive experience and innovative ideas will enhance the brand’s image holistically.

 

His journey with Accor started in 2016 where he served as Executive Assistant Manager at Novotel Mumbai Juhu Beach and has since played a pivotal role in the brand's growth and success in India. He has proven himself since then by leading 2 pre-openings as General Manager at Novotel Kochi Infopark Kochi and Grand Mercure Bengaluru at Gopalan Mall, Bengaluru. Opening the hotel was both tough and rewarding for Sachin, but he handled it all with ease. Since joining Accor brand, he has introduced multiple F&B programs, training and support framework for the food and beverage team across the region as the F&B Alchemist for India & South Asia and also won the Times Best Hospitality Project for the year 2022.

 

Sachin’s professional trajectory includes the best of the best in the hospitality industry including The Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai, Taj Lands End Mumbai and Taj Coromandel Chennai. He has a Masters of Management in Hospitality from Cornell University (US) and Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), where he was awarded ‘Best Student of the Year’. He was also awarded the ‘Best F&B Manager’ award by FHRAI for the year 2013-14.
